Hello All -
I have a few question and hopefully you Ladies and Gentlemen (Veterans with the title 15) can help me out. My husband has been a residence at hotel Calipatria for the past 9 years and was transferred to Salinas Valley at the end of December. I had planned on going to visit him this weekend February 18th because it's my baby's Birthday, but for so reason I had this feel something was wrong so I called last Friday and I was told that I had to reapply for visits I asked why and I was told because the information in the computer showed the last time that I had seen my husband was in 2004. This is not true I just saw him Christmas day 2005. I asked if I could talk to the visiting LT but he had already left for the day so I asked if he would be in on Monday I was told it was a Holiday, the CO ( which was a female was very RUDE:angry:) she told me to call back wednesday. I called and again the same person I asked to speak to the Watch Commander he said he would transfer me to someone that could help the same person I told her I wanted to speak to the visiting Sargent he told me that I would have to reapply to visit my husband because the application needs to be updated every two years. Does anybody eles know about this? Shouldn't have they told my husband this in the beginning? I'm just so upset ,confused and frustrated with this whole situation. Can you please give me some advise!

Bob-bi-lu posted this in a different thread, but I still have to look at the Title 15 to see what it says.

Once you are approved at one institution that approval will follow him if he gets transferred. However, keep in mind that you must update your cdc106 visitors questionare form every 2 years (per the title 15). I have heard from several people that once their loved one gets transferred to a new prison the staff are telling them that they must submit another cdc 106 form and that is INCORRECT. As long as you were already approved, have visited within a year and update your cdc106 form every 2 years then you will have no problem.

Thank you so much TheGeneralsWife. My Biggest fear is driving all the way up there and being denied my visit. So please let me know.

Where can I get this information? So that I can take a copy with me.
Thanks,

Its in the title 15 and you have to search through it in the visiting section. I haven't found a copy of it online yet, but I keep looking through the threads for an updated link. I think I saw it on a yahoo group too not that long ago.

Here is the direct link to the Title 15

http://www.cdcr.ca.gov/BudgetRegs/docs/Title15.pdf

Go to page 70 and then look at section 3172.1 (6) (g)

"Any visitor approved for visiting at one institution/facility shall be approved to visit the same inmate upon transfer to another institution/facility provided the visitor's approval status remains unchanged"

I hope this helps you out. I knew you didn't have to reapply. I read the entire visiting section and there was nothing else that I saw that could conflict with that.

So armed with this knowledge, I really hope that you can see your man and that he doesn't have to spend his birthday alone!

My fiancee had been at CTF, Soledad for 2 years before I was able to visit and when I arrived on New Year's Day, they had me update my form at that time. Obviiously, you are better off getting that taken care of prior to your arrival but I wanted to share my experience with you. Oh! and when I arrived, they had my last visiting date incorrect as well.

Send it to Salinas Valley State Prison
Attn: Visiting Sgt. Mesa
P.O. Box 1020
Soledad, Ca. 93960

My friend submitted one the middle of Feb and it still hasn't been approved, and she has nothing on her record. But mine was approved in a week back in Nov. Good luck.
