FINALLY! We have been wanting our own space for the last 2 years! Barb, you're awesome!

So does anyone have any idea what went on at SVSP this weekend? I usually visit weekly, however, i took the weekend off. I got a call from one of the regulars that said they didnt hand out passed till 8 am this morning and that visits were almost cancelled for all yards. She said she overheard something about and inmate escape or attempted escape...in the long run they just terminated visits on ECHO yard (Level 1).

Do any of you know if SVSP Yard a is still LD?

AS FAR AS I KNOW YES AND THEY STILL HAVNT BEEN ABLE TO GO TO STORE YET ( C-YARD). HOPEFULLY IT'LL END SOONER THAN LATER!

SVSP is off LD as of July 1st, 2006.

Wow I am so glad I found this site. I have so many questions! My hubby was transferred to SVSP last week (Tuesday I think) and I want to visit this coming weekend. I was told I need to call Thursday to make sure they are not on lockdown. Is this True? Help.

Hey Ladies.... Just got a call from my man at SVSP and he said they're off of lock down! I'm sure you'll be receiving calls now!! Thank God!!!

All Southerners and whites are still on lockdown on C yard. I'm hoping this one doesn't last too long. Does anyone know why they are on lockdown on C yard? My hunny didn't tell me.

It is always a good idea to call to find out about the visiting Friday night before I leave to be safe. The number is 1-800-374-8474. When the recording comes on press 126 for SVSP.

Well I See No One Has Posted In Awhile But Svsp Is Always On Some Kind Of Lock Down. But Thought I'd Share Some Insight On Visiting. The Process Is Slower. I Only Have Behind The Glass Visits But Regular Visits Are Called At A Very Slow Rate, Also They Have A New Sergent Which He Has Changed The Rules When Going Through The Metal Detector. You Can No Longer Hold Your Bra And They Dont Wand If You Do Not Have A Doctor's Note Or A Prior Auth. Excuse. You Dont Have To Sleep Outside If You Dont Want To Because They Call The Numbers So Slow That You Will Probally Get In At The Same Rate If You Just Show Up And Get A Ticket When You Get There. Also For Those Of You Who Take Medication You Can Only Take One Pill Per Prescription Per Bottle. So If You Need 1 Pill For The Time In Visiting Dont Bring More Than One In The Bottle Because They Make You Walk Back To The Car. Yes Even With The Docs Note. Alot Has Changed But Alot Still The Same. But Ahole Lot Slower.

A friend was just transferred from North Kern State Prison to Salinas Valley on Mar 17 but he hasn't called at all since his transfer. His family is concerned since there has been no communication via letter or phone call. Is the place on lockdown often? His girlfriend just told me that Salinas is always on lockdown and has a lot of problems. Is this true? Can anyone give me a low down on SVSP? Thanks a lot!!

I've never visited anyone in prison and this would be my first. My penpal is in Soledad and I am totally lost. I am in the Bay Area and plan to go tomorrow, does anyone want to carpool with me? Please let me ASAP.
