I didn't know where else to post this topic...

I've been receiving acupuncture treatments for the last 9 months and it has done wonders for me. I wasn't treating anything, I just wanted to relax. Over the last few months, I've never been so aware of myself, my surroundings, and virtually everything. It isn't a miracle cure, voodoo spell, or anything weird. It's all about YOU. In eastern philosophy, it is believed one possesses the power to heal oneself from within. Believe it or not, this is absolutely true. Acupuncture treats the person as a whole. Since beginning treatment, I have become so aware of everything in my life and I have been able to discontinue half of my prescribed medication! YMMV though, so I don't guarantee acupuncture to cure your physical aliments.

My Acupuncturist and I are very close and talk often (she is my boss' wife). I told her about PTO and the various types of people here. She was floored because she works with one of her instructors at a local jail treating heroin addicts. She went into detail about the types of treatment and benefits. For example, heroin addicts learn to stop relying on drugs by relying on acupuncture, then the stronger they become, the less they need the acupuncture needles and the more they need their own strength.

I do have a point, I swear.

I thought about the people here. Recovering addicts/alcoholics, depressed people, stressed out people, etc. Acupuncture could help you more than you realize. It's at least something to think about.

If you want more info about acupuncture or treatments, etc. let me know. I'm not selling anything, I'm just trying to help people.

Is this something that people could learn to do at home? I've used various natural remedies and know how beneficial these methods can be. Honestly I couldn't afford to go to someone professionally. But I would be interested in some of the techniques. Particularly for depression and energy.

Acupuncture can't be done at home because there's too much to it. However, my co-worker is currently in massage school and I can find out from her if there are at-home techniques people can use for relaxation, energy, etc. *making mental note to self*

My medical insurance covers acupuncture if it's performed by a licensed M.D., which Kelly is not! I bet a lot of insurances cover the treatments. But, it can get rather costly at $60 a visit.

Other home remedies: 2 great books..."Healing With Whole Foods" and "Prescription for Nutritional Healing."

I'll get back to you about the massage as soon as I find out something.
