:wave: Those that know me know that I love a good check-in thread so here goes. The idea here is to stop by and check in from time to time. The thread is not meant to take away from anything you would rather post in a separate thread, by all means please do so. This thread will be updated on a monthly basis and is intended to be a couch you flop on and say "hey today at work..." or "my kid said the funniest thing..." or "the weather.." or "whatever..." I find that "check-ins" foster communication and family and that is the outcome I hope we will find together so here goes:

Hey everybody ~ Sunday night thinking about what the heck to wear to work tomorrow. I went shopping with Sebastian's parents today at SuperWalmart, got ink for the printer so I can send more pictures to him. We are talking about visiting him as soon as we are allowed. It's far (400 miles) so we are planning an overnight trip so we can get a couple of visits in.

I'm really excited about this new forum it seems to be taking off. I couldn't be more pleased and look forward to getting to know all of you.

It's Monday morning here and I'm getting ready to take the dogs out for their daily walk, if I can ever tear myself away from this new forum, that is!!! One of the dogs, Saoirse, my Saluki, has already given up on me and gone back to bed. I bet she plays me up once she's off her lead as she very good at 'pay back.'

I got a nice surprise yesterday as one of the Illinois members was talking to her guy on the yard phone and spoke to Tony. I got a message from him almost as soon as it happened and, as we can't talk to each other, this was as good as a phone call for me.

Got back from my walk and I have a letter from the prison granting me extended visits for the 10 days I'm there. Now I feel as if I'm really on my way again.

I'm running late because I've been reading my email and then this forum. Ha! I now need to rush around and get ready for work. My guy is getting ready to go to the hole for a while. He called me twice yesterday so we could talk about all this, and enjoy the calls while we can. I will be back on here this evening!

Hello everyone! Not much happening here! MrsDragon and StacyWars were in my area this weekend so we spent some time together, chatted and got caught up on everything. Planning on going to visit on Valentines day! I can't wait! My guy keeps danglilng these little tidbits of information in front of me but won't tell me what is going on. He is such a tease like that but I guess it is his way of making up for all the teasing I do to him. Have a great month all! Can't wait for things to warm up in my neck of the woods!

Good Morning! It is freezy down here in Atlanta. For a minute I thought I was back in Buffalo. I am exhausted already and the week is just beginning. I won't get to see my honey for V-Day but we have a trailer visit coming up soon so I am sure we'll make up for lost time.;)

Happy Monday. I went to visit Mr. on Saturday for the first time since my surgery. It was too much for me and I got sick..but I'm recovering nicely. I needed to see him as much as he needed to see me so it was worth it in the end ;)

Mr. D's out date has been extended since the DMOC screwed up and didn't transfer him to the release program in time. Now he's coming home May 16th. I'm MAD as HE** about it, but I'll get over it and its only 13 more days that originally planned. At least we have a light at the end of the tunnel!!

Hey guys, getting ready to head off to work, I'll be on from there. My fiancé and I got into a fight last night, but that's ok. I didn't write him much so I'll be doing that from work most likely, bringing the card and what not.

Heard about the blizzard out in - um, whereever it was *i was at the gym and reading the close captions*, I do not miss snow one bit and am enjoying my Cali weather, but when I move to Ohio I know I'll be done for.

Today is great. No complaints.

Hey all, on my lunch break thought I would check in. My guy got moved to pre-release yesterday, we knew it was going to happen but he is somewhat bummed as he had alot of friends at the other dorm. Oh well it is only for 22 more days, he says, and I know, he can deal. Cold here with just a dusting of snow covering the ground.
As you might all imagine we are getting pretty excited about his homecoming. Trying to get all the ducks in a row for that big event. Had a talk with the four year old about not being able to sleep in my bed so much, he wasn't happy but did stay in his bed last night. It wasn't an every night thing, but has become more frequent in recent days so I definately want to nip that in the proverbial bud, ASAP.

Well I finally was able to get some much needed sleep last night, so that was a good thing. I didn't think the sleep sand man was ever going to visit me, but finally he did. I slept oh so well, even late today getting up. But that is ok.

We only have 21 days and a wake up till my husband will be out of the hole, that is unless a letter to the Warden from the Unit Administrator causes him to change his mind and cut him out early. One can always hope.

Loving this new forum and getting to meet all of you.

It is still cold here in Western Kentucky, but the sun is shining and no snow or rain. So that is a good thing.

I am so not used to this lack of communication between Sebastian and I right now, he was moved a week ago and I've not heard from him yet. I called down there he's fine, going through the process but I won't come out of my funk until I get a letter or call and we can set up a routine. The DOC gets on my last nerve.

Hello everyone! I was bummed earlier cuz my honey is sick and is in confinement for 40 days. It was nice not working today cuz of the holiday back to work tomorrow. I went nd bought all kinds of art supplies to make him all sorts of cards. take care everyone

Hey everybody!! I can not wait until tomorrow! It is Valentines day and my baby told me to look out for something in the mail from him and it is also Tuesday which means that I get to talk to him! Life is good!!
Also, only 13 more days until the parole board!!

Nothing much going on with me, had a great visit with hubby yesterday so I am still smiling, he let it slip what he got me for V-day, he is having a picture of us drawn, :)that man cant keep nothing from me, I dont even know why he tries LOL, I got him a watch, it is so cute, I'll just have to put it up till he comes home, but I know he is gonna like it.
Other then that we are fine, still in honeymoon mode :)

Today is 2-13-06 i got my kids cleaning up for there yearly money at tax time. I leave wed to see Ike so i am packing to get ready to go see my papi. I am so excited i get to spend 3 days with him. I am excited to rent a jacuzzi hotel room for 3 days so this will be like my vacation time i have never taken my own time off from work in 10 years. My little boy i think is in love with Ike he is carrying his picture every where and makeing little pictures with mine and Ikes name togather. i have to get my moms lap top and take my printer so i can get online lol. I just got me a message belt so it can scroll I Love Ike hahaha. anyway that is the rest of my week glad to get away from work. i could think of no better place to be then with my baby.

I know its easier said than done but my motto is....things always work out cause they always do....what that basically means is things have a way of sorting themselves out even when it seems that we have no control. Keep the faith and hold it close......you will find your strength there. I will keep my fingers crossed cause I been there and done that. :thumbsup:

Well I have been running errands all day and I returned to find a wonderful long letter waiting for me from my husband.

He seems to be concerned as to why I have not made the move that I started in January. I tried telling him that for a couple of weeks I was sick and of course there is the never ending work schedule to deal with and the never ending errands to run.

And of course the time I spend here on PTO which he knows about and is ok with.

He just thinks that I am dragging. I have already moved quite alot of things, but not nearly enough. It is also difficult to do when you are doing it all yourself and in a mid sized car.

It just takes time, plus since he is in the hole right now (only 19 days and a wake up to go), I spend alot of time writing him. I make sure he has something from the mailman each day. So that takes time.

Oh well, I guess it will all work out in the end. Just have to hurry up and get motivated to do it. It isn't that I don't want to do it. I do. It will be quite beneficial to me in fact.

I guess I am just not as young as I used to be and things take longer for me to get it all done and in place.

As most of you know Sebastian recently went back to prison and will max out. He was just transferred to the prison he will serve his time at and I've yet to get a phone call/letter. I know that if he could he would so it's just part of the process one I might add I hate!!!

Now get this, all Illinois prisons went on lockdown yesterday. They are still on today, lot's of rumors as to why, regardless wasn't that a big fat hairy Happy Valentine's Day from the DOC? Mind you because of our circumstances, his just going through receiving and all it is just possible that I might not have been able to hear from him yesterday in any case. Does that matter? Nope, not one bit, I hate it all the same.

Okay vent done. Thanks for being here. I'm not all a bag o' rocks, I am enjoying getting to know all of you....

Here it is Wed evening, just got off work a little while. Bummed because I can't talk to my baby, we were so spoiled talking everyday...however it does give up something else to look forward to besides him coming home, we think and hope this makes these last few days go faster.
Patty, girl I saw where all the IL prisons were on Lockdown on Valentine's day no less, but you know you will be hearing something soon.
MrsD, take it easy and don't rush it on the yogurt, if only 1 oz you can handle then just advance slowly only you know what you can tolerate.
Babygirl, I know what you mean about the moving, I absolutely hate it and especially to be by yourself doing it...do it when you are ready.

Good morning everyone, Happy Thursday. I'm not feeling too good this morning the other night I went to the gym to work out and I must have pulled a muscle in my uper left shoulder area, cuz everytime I move the wrong way or breathe too deep it hurts like the devil.
As some of you may know from other post here that last Thursday I got married, only to find out that same night my husband went to the hospital, he came down the chicken pox. I was told I couldn't vidsit for 40 days, last night I got a call from his mom and the doctor cleared him. I'm so happy I got my visits back.

I hope everyone is having a better day than I am :( Its nothing BIG, but I'm having a small medical issue that has me very uncomfortable. I'm doing really really well since my surgery except I have no energy and am not bouncing back like I wanted to.

I think I'm feeling ya today. :-( For some reason, I am not handling being laid off this time. I think it stems from wanting to purchase a home; therfore, I had to put this on hold.

My un-employment compensation runs out in a few weeks and thus far, I have not found a job. If nothing breaks by the time my un-employment runs out, I am going to go through a temp agency. I just can't be w/o funds. :-)

I'm optimistic. I have had some job interviews, b/c I seem to lean towards nonprofit, the starting pay for jobs offered have been half of what I was making on my last job. I can't afford to go backwards.

I hate networking for myself, but I am going to have to let folks know that I'm looking and if they hear of anything that's paying close to or more that what I was making, to let me know.

I know things will work themselves out, but presently, I just feeling some kind of way about not working, b/c I am so use to being in control and I love working.

I hope everyone has a marvelous and wonderful cay.

It's Thursday and when I went to check the mail today I had 3 letters and a card from my honey bunches :D and a couple of V day cards from a friend. I feel so special :p . Also my amorcito has already called me for today so of course I'm :D non-stop. I got my first pair of glasses this week and I am just getting used to them. In the mail I also received my official suspension letter from the visiting Lt. but even that couldn't bring me down. Hope you all have had a good day and have a good rest of the day.:thumbsup:

I wonder why it is that bad luck seems to always come in "threes" and usually all together.

I found out today I did not get the promotion, even though it is clear that I am the best qualified. It is an all boys club where I work and there sure is discrimination when it comes to promoting. The position was filled with a male of course. Not that there is anything wrong with males, but he certainly does not have the qualifications I have nor the seniority which means absolutely nothing these days.

Next, I did not get a letter from my husband which I was expecting and which he promised me. I mean what else do you do in the hole except read, write and sleep. He has been out of books since Sun. Hmm... Who can sleep that long!

Next, my closest girlfriend here locally and also my ex boss, her sister lost the baby she was carrying for five months now. It had no lungs and only one kidney. I have to believe it was God's will. Her mother's dog also had to be put to sleep this afternoon due to a brain tumor.

So that is already four and we are in for the storm of our life here this evening. Complete with rain, hail and tornados.

mrsd - I hope you get your medical problem cleared up. Have you started that frantic itching yet?

Hey all just checking, I am feeling good, finally got some Valentines cards that I should have had on the 14th but I am not trippen I am happy, but I got a very sweet and lovey dovey letter, So I am sitting here smiling. :) Oh how I love that husband of mine. The cards are so cute one has Elmo on it and the other is Micky and Minnie sharing a milkshake. And what he wrote on the inside made my heart just melt and me fall in love even more. When I have a chance I am gonna have to post what he wrote. :) He can be so mushy when it comes to me. Well gotta go yall take care.

Just hearing the mixture of feelings I began to feel better. It feels great hearing that things are going well for others, realizing that I'm not in this along and knowing that things are going to get better.

Thanks thunder, yes the sun will rise again for sure. Not sure what I am doing up at almost 3AM my time, but I just couldn't sleep.

The weather storm seems to have passed us now, so that is a good thing to be thankful for.

I am down to 17 days and a wake up till my husband gets out of the hole and we can visit again.

Ah...Today is Friday!! yay!! I have a three day weekend to look forward to. I'll get a call from Steve tonight, and I always love that!! This weekend I hope to get some fun in and also catch up on things here at home. Also, tonight, I will have my two grandsons over. One is 12 and the other is 8. I have to stay on my toes with those two! ha!

Another 3 days weekend!!! That means more delays on our mail, Patty. Grr. If I don't get something tomorrow I'm going to scream, and you may here me where you all are.

Man, that is just horrible. It took until now for the dang mailman to finally catch up to where I was getting my mail from my sweetie two days after he mails it! :cry: Now it will take another month and a half to get back to normal :cry: WHY OH WHY? :cry:

Yep, no mail Monday ladies. But the good news is in Kentucky and maybe other states, those prisons that have US mail delivered to the prison on Sat, they will pass that mail out on Monday to the inmates. Some prisons pick up their mail at the Post Office box, but others have it delievered in Kentucky. So although you will not get mail, they might get your mail if you get it there by tomorrow.

Snow is in the forecast for here for tonight and in the morning. Also forecasting 9 degrees tomorrow night. Now that is cold.

I will be off to work in a few hours and unsure when I will return whether it will be in the morning or Sunday morning depending on the snow.

Hope everyone who is visiting this weekend will have great visits and those of us getting phone calls enjoy them as well.

Well the good news is that my mans prison is off lockdown as of today, the bad news still no letter and I don't really even know if he can call yet so I wait.

It is not a 3 day weekend for me as the buses have to run regardless ( I work in the administrative offices for our city's Mass Transit District). The no mail on Monday thing really gets on my last nerve...

Bummer about the mail, I feel for ya ladies. I on the other hand don't usually get mail so it it just another day for me except that my kids will be home from school. I will get to talk to my guy tonight, which makes my whole day. And I am going for my last visit tomorrow. This is so big I can't even beging to tell you...but that is for another time...I really can't wait to see him, I miss him terribly without being ablet to talk to him everyday like we had been. Then to know that the next time I see him, I will be bringing him home. I think I am getting really anxious, I hope the next two weeks fly by..Hope you all have a fabulous weekend.

I hope everyone is having a good weekend. Its bitterly cold here in NY, we had a little snow flurry this morning, that didn't stop me fro going and seeing my husband, we had a great visit, the first one since we got married.

OMG, lostinlove, you are still on your honeymoon. Glad a little cold weather and a snow flurry did not keep you from visiting.

We had a snow storm here last night and it kept me from going back to work this afternoon. Oh well, that is what they make vacation days for isn't it. LOL

What a fun place to stop by! I'm in Houston, TX working. My guy is calling now through PrisonCallsOnline directly to my cell phone. We're relieved hearing about the final moves from Mule Creek to Old Folsom and feel safe tht we have no move in the horizon. Never the less, the dropped phone calls due to the remote location where I'm working are a pain! Looking forward to my trip from Ohio to California for my quarterly visit that is now two quarters overdue!

Hey all just checking on this cold Sunday, I am a little down today, cause I am at work and this is not my visit weekend :( Dang I hate sharing LOL, J/K this is his family weekend, I am ok cause I had a letter waiting for me when I got home yesterday so it was a great end to a long day. Well here in Minnesota it was -16 last night, windchills in the -40 to -50 range. Brutal. Tim said Georgia was 70 degrees the other day. Yet another reason I must get back down there soon.

Im back out looking for a job I can handle this coming week. Tried to do an office job, but they wanted me filing for 4 hours straight, and with MS, that is impossible. So need to find something this week in order to get back down to see him next month.

He called me on my cell while I was at the mall yesterday. I couldnt say where I was, so he just kept talking, while I was standing in the linen department with my mom and sisters. Chaotic, but at least I got to talk to him. Hes calling again Monday, which is good since there is no mail :( I hate holidays!!

Well we are down to 15 days and a wake up till my husband gets out of the hole. I can hardly wait.

It is frigid cold here in Western Kentucky. It is going down to 7 tonight and it was 9 last night. We got about 4 inches of snow here overnight Fri.
I was able to get home from work Sat morning, but unable to go back Sat afternoon and had to take vacation days as the roads were not cleared off and with the low temperatures we were bound to have sheets of ice to drive on today.

It's a miserable day here, wet and dreary but I did managed to get a long walk in this morning before the rain set in. I've been amusing myself watching the Winter Olympics but even most of that's been stopped becausee of white-out conditions in Italy. Well, suppose I'll just have to do some cooking and cheer myself up with that.

No letters yesterday but as tomorrow isn't a holiday here so I'll be waiting for the post-lady to put something through my door.

My phone bill might be a shocker but soon he will be going to the hole and we need to talk as much as we can now. He thinks he's getting moved. I hope it's closer so I can see him again.

We are getting three more inches of snow here tonight. It is coming down pretty heavy right now and blistery cold as well. Down to 7 tonight. Wow, I can only imagine with the strong winds what the windshield factor temp is.

I am sorry you have not gotten a letter in a while. Are you sure he has postage or money for it? Hopefully your phone number will get approved soon. I am sure just hearing his voice will help cheer you up. Keep the communication flowing to him and then when he is able to write or call you will have lots to discuss.

As for me, I have a bad headache today. Nothing unusual for me though. We are about 40 today, so it seems like a heat wave.

Still working on my packing to move, but it too is going very slowly. Not nearly fast enough for my husband. Oh well, he is not here to help me, so just have to do the best I can.

Today has not been a good day, get this: I called Consolidated (our correctional billing company) at about 10:45 am just to make sure my line was clear and they told me he has a phone list but I'm not on it. Of course I spent the rest of the day avoiding my co-workers, crying and second guessing the very core of our relationship.

I get home from work and call them about 4:45 pm once again just to be absolutely sure before I fire off a very pathetic letter and they acknowledge that I called earlier but checked once again, nope I'm not on his list. She put me on hold for a second and came back and told me the last time he tried to call you was this morning at 8:23 am OOOOOOOOOOOOOokay so why didn't the first person I spoke to tell me that? I asked why the call did not go through she told me he can call and call and call but it will not go through if you're not on his phone list. His mom hasn't received a call either. Something's not right here glad I didn't write the letter but not sure what to do next. I did finish a letter I was writing him this morning and I let him know what was up with the phone people and dropped it in the box... geez I dunno

Get this - I am a legal secretary. I spoke for the first time to who is now my husband collect when he called the law office from jail in December of 2003. We were representing time. In Feb 2004 he asked if I was married. Never having met him, I agreed to write him. I eventually visited him and we began talking on the phone daily. I wrote him daily, talked to him daily and saw him weekly. I fell head over heels in love. For 6 months, I never got to touch him but only get to know his every thought and mood. I got my first kiss in August 2004 in the basement of the jail during a graduation cerimony for a program he had successfully completed. He moved in with me from jail in Oct of 2004 and I couldn't have loved him more. We became engaged in February of 2005 and he was arrested in March of 2005. I had thought he was doing good recovering from his substance abuse addiction but man, did my world come tumbling down that day!! I soul searched and could not leave him. His first out date is November of 2007. We were married in the prison November 30, 2005!!! I have written this whole story out in detail for our grandchildren and great-grandchildren etc. God is awesome!

Patty, wow. It appears that something is trying to keep you and Sebestian apart; therefore, you have to fight even harder and know that this too shall pass and work itself out.. When things are meant to happen, it appears that the enemy tries to keep it from coming into fuition, b/c he knows what good and a blessing to others it will be.

Patty, can you or his mother call the prison to speak w/ his counselor to find out what's going on and to make sure Sebestian is aware that you're not on his calling list. This does not appear to be consistent w/ his behavior/outlook regarding you guys relationship.

It's strange that you and his mom are not on the list and that he's been trying to call you. Do you think they would devulge who's on the list, could you be listed under another name? For all you know, the system could have deleted and or indicated that your name not be on the list. Girl, what the hell is going on? :hmm: Try your best to stay calm, for within time, you will find an answer. :grouphug: :grouphug:

I was in a state of shock for lack of a better term, now i'm in busy mode, a friend is going to do some investigating in the morning and I have every confidence in her abilities, she's the kind of person that FINDS STUFF OUT. So, we wait, mama and I. The facility will give no more info not even to mama. I think my friend will be helpful though, in any case it can't hurt. I ffiiinnnnaaallllllyyyy recieved a letter from my man today. He always writes like 3 weeks time has not gone by at all. He is so crazy. But I love him. I dont even know why I start to worry and stress about things because then I get his letter and I ask myself WTF was I worried about?

IkesBabyGirl, I do so feel for you. I was due to marry Tony this time 3 years ago and was told just weeks before that there would be no more weddings at the prison. I'd gone as far as buying the clothes I wanted to wear. They're all still in my wardrobe, never worn, and waiting!! Even the ACLU hasn't been able to get things moving again.

It sounds like alot of us have some good news to share. I'm happy for those that got letters, visits, wow a new job and a marriage it's good to come here!!! Well Sebastian called me today!!!! Apparently the problem was that the DOC used an old phone list of his which had phone numbers were his mom and I had lived during his last bid (we both moved while he was out on parole). The first chance he got he called me and all is well. He was on his way to go up before the parole board and he will call me again first opportunity he has to tell me the results. We have mixed feelings about the situation, I'll let you know when I know. Thanks for the support everyone...

Well I made a huge mistake today, I cut all my hair off. it was LONG and now its up to my shoulders. Im sick to my stomach about it. THEN I get home and my landlord called and said she found a check from me from September that she 'forgot' to cash and could she cash it now. Im like I dont have $412.00!!! I dont know what to do about it, I just dont have it. I have a job interview tomorrow, so any good vibes this way would be greatly appreciated. Only good news today is my guy called and he loves me :)

Sebastian called twice tonight the board told him well ya did some good and some not so good things so we'll get back to ya. He's only got about 55 days left to serve regardless so we wait, not trippin' on that. The conversation was mostly good. I think I liked him better when I had never had him in the real world. But notice I said like, the love is definitely still there. It's a strange strange world.

Hey everyone i went to see Ike i had a great visit he is such a clown sometimes. We get special visits since i live so far away. Oh yeah some of yall check and see how many days you can get for special visits. I understand that it is up to 4 days for out of towners. I am not sure how far out of town you have to be. I just wanted to share that little bit of news with everyone. Anyway Ike is such a great man for me he makes me very happy. Leaveing him is getting to be a little easier i use to cry when i leave him but i am ok now. I am haveing a few issues with my daughter cause she was telling me she is jealous of Ike. I told her he is going to be her step dad and she is not going to try and play me and Ike against each other like she does with some other people in my family. So i am struggleing with her. If anyone has any advice of what to do to deal with her let me know she is haveing a few other issues.

Hi, ladies, I too met my fella while he was incarcerated. It's a long story and I'm hoping it has a happy ending this time. He'll be out in May 2007. Sounds like several of yours are almost out and that's just fabulous. If you haven't already, you may want to consider reading How to Love and Inspire Your Man After Prison and How To Do Good After Prison by Michael B. Jackson. I read the first one, but haven't read the second one yet. It may be helpful to you.

I thought life was going to be grand when he came home the first time. Within 5 days he got himself into a motorcycle accident and had to have half his stomach removed. Three months later he was gone with the wind. That was 11 years ago. Last April he contacted me and after several months I got over everything and have decided to try again.

Anybody interested in the story, holler your e-mail in PM and I'll shoot it to you.

Update on my situation, my landlord is letting me pay off the 400 dollar check that she forgot to cash, which is great. It would have put me out of visits for a couple months if I had to come up with it all at once. On another note, I had a job interview yesterday, and I think it went ok. I'll know something Monday. And I have another line on a job, she's going to set up an interview with me next week. Things are starting to look up. Im disabled (multiple sclerosis), so I can only do a very low maintenance kind of job, so Ive been applying at hair salons as a receptionist. I can sit!
Best news of all, my fiance called a bit ago, and the Innocence Project is interested in his case! They have requested transcripts, the whole bit. They contacted him, and I dont think they contact people without having a pretty good idea about their case. Im really hopeful about this. Think positive thoughts for us, I really need him home!!!

Happy Friday, ladies, and thank you for the warm welcome! I hope all goes well for those with extra things on their plates. I, too, unfortunately have been out of work for over a month now. I thought it was going to be much easier than this since the economy here in Silicon Valley has really picked up, but - hell no! Nobody wants to pay the piper and nobody still wants to hire anybody permanently. I had an interview yesterday for a 4 month contract position and another one on Monday that I've lost track on because the interviews have been so far apart because of their travels. I've put everything in God's hands as he has always pulled me through tough times in the past.

Baby, how nice you know when your man gets out of the hole. Mine has been in the dungeon as I call it since January 8th. He's waiting on a final report and then will go to classification and hopefully be out within the next week. All because he didn't want to take his sleeping pill at 5:00p! I can't believe they do that sort of thing. They were never supposed to suspend his privileges and only give him a write-up and some counseling. They messed up big time, but he yelled at the Lieutenant and that's what got him thrown in the hole. Red tape has kept him there all this time. At first he couldn't get any visits, then they gave him visits behind glass, but the communication system is so horrible I could hardly hear what he had to say. I'm hoping I can hang until we can have contact visits again.

If you haven't already, you may want to consider reading How to Love and Inspire Your Man After Prison and How To Do Good After Prison by Michael B. Jackson. I read the first one, but haven't read the second one yet. It may be helpful to you.

I just wanted you to know that after I read your post I ordered both books from amazon.com, about $30 including postage. I'll be sending him one and keeping the other. This will give us something to eat up a bit of time and keep us doing something "together". I appreciate the heads up...

Patty, I hope you find the books helpful. Too cool you can send the book to your man. We have to go through torture and have things special ordered. Makes for more expense when you want to read the same book! I may just write a book of my own one of these days - especially if my story is successful. We woman need all the encouragement we can get!

I hear ya queenbeas, by the way I know it says I live in Rockford, Illinois and it's true that's where I've been the past 5 years but I spent the first 38 years of my life in California. I was born in San Francisco and raised on the peninsula in South San Francisico, with familial ties to Sonoma County and your Santa Clara county. I have relatives in Milpitas and Santa Clara. Nice to have a "homegirl" up in here... =)

Patty, do you know how to do a poll on here? We have a group we formed of gals who have their men at Mule Creek State Prison (Ione, CA). Believe it or not, they're all on the same yard even! We took the name of the title of the first thread, but we've outgrown that name and want to change it. We also want to make sure our group is happy with the new name, hence the reason we want to take a vote. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hey everyone!! Well I went to see hubby yesterday for a couple of hours. Got sick again, but now I know why.. Aquafina water makes me ill! So, I'll have to find something else to drink when I go visit!! But we had 2 great hours together and he said when he called today that I look FANTASTIC! ;)

No more aquafina!!! mrsd ~ I'm so glad you got to have a visit. How grand it is to hear the man you love say you look fantastic, although I'm sure he felt that way all along it's still so nice to hear dontcha think? I'm so happy for you. Keep bringing us good news, we missed you!

Hope everyone had a good weekend, yesterday I took my son and his friend up to Howe Caverns for his birthday which is this week, today I was able to visit my beloved husband.

Hi Everyone! This weekend has been a kind of sad one. I haven't heard from my guy since Wednesday. He was supposed to call on Friday night and said if he didn't I'd know that he went to the "hole" (horrible word). Anyway, I had a Mary Kay party at my house, and a barbeque for family today to fill the empty feeling I have. Now I'll be writing long letters for a while and that's what we have for now.

Kim, I feel your pain about the "hole." My honey's been in there since January 8th. I call it the dungeon. Sounds better to me. He finally went to a violations hearing around the 13th and should have had a final report 10 days after that so I'm hoping he has the report and they've put him on the list for a classification hearing and get him out of there. All that nonsense because he didn't want to take his sleeping pill at 5:00p! Who the heck wants to go to sleep at 5:00p - it's still practically the afternoon and what the heck do they have to get for in the morning????!!!!!!

Speaking of getting up in the morning - I, too, have an interview tomorrow and hope it goes well. I think this is the last of the rounds and also the last of my hot leads. If this doesn't work out, I have to start from scratch all over again. Looking for work is the pits!

Hi everybody. Just wanted to let you know that my interview went well. I took all of the assesment tests today (3hours)!!! I will find out this week sometime if I get the job or not. I really want it but Im not going to let myself get down if I dont. I will just keep trying. There is a job out there for me somewhere. I just have to find it. Everything is meant to be for some reason, I truly believe that. So Im just leaving my life in Gods hands and I trust that everything will work out how its supposed to.

Hi Everyone! I have been kind of MIA lately. Glad to be back. My trailer visit with my hubby was wonderful. We had a regular visit on Sunday before I flew back home. Another couple commented that they couldn't believe that we have been together for 13 years because we still "look happy and in love"! I know that is a compliment; but then I had to let them know that marriage is what you make it and it does take A LOT of work. On the plane flying home I felt kind of sad too for the other couple and other couples out there who have not figured out what it takes to keep going...

MrsD - Sorry that darn Aquafina made you sick. I love that stuff!;) Glad you had a great visit!

Thanks guys. The interview went well, so well they gave me a second interview with human resources, now I sit and wait to see if I get a call! If its meant to be I will, if not well, I won't and thats ok because my confidence is high!

Well that is great that they gave you a second interview, very impressive and a hopeful sign I would say. Glad your confidence is high, that will help you go far.

We are down to six days and a wake up for my husband to get out of the hole and I feel like a school girl, well my mind anyway, ha, ha!

No word on yesterday's interviews, but got a call this morning from another agency with a new lead! Such a long story, but God is definitely my co-pilot and those windows just keep opening! Faith rocks! Thanx again and again for all your love and support.

Girl, I know how you feel. I've been un-employed since Aug. 31, 05 and Sunday, I filed my last un-employment compensation check. My faith is really gonna have to kick in, b/c I did not think it would take this long to find something of interest. I was offered jobs, but the starting was entirely too low. Now, since I won't have anything coming in, if offered again, I will take it. Talk about humility. :-) I have not done the temp agency thing, b/c I am not too sure if this is the route that I want to go. Hey, a sister has to do something. :-)

Well I'm just home from work. With so many out of work I hate to complain about my job suffice to say it can be dreary at times. Just checking the posts and tending to my PTO duties, Sebastian will call in a bit, now that he can I hear from him everyday which is real nice. I'm glad everyone is doing well.

I've only been out six weeks, and I've been freaking since the day it happened because I knew all too soon money was going to get so tight and after all these years I don't want to even be close to have to worrying about losing my house!

Patty, b*tch all you want about your job. If we can tell about the job seeking, you can surely vent when you're frustrated. That's what friends are for!

Thunder, I hear you about the temping. I too have been procrastinating about doing that since I need a real job with benefits. I've had opportunities too, but for half what I am used to making. I am learning the hard way that settling is now getting me into trouble because now they think because I've been accepting the low pay, they can pay me pauper wages. Stick to your guns for the proper pay for as long as you can hold out. I'm routing for you and all of us looking for work. God will not let us go down with the ship. He made our boats awful leaky, but he won't let us sink!

thunder ~ my niece has made a career out of temping she finds it extremely lucrative actually, they usually offer her full time employment and she picks and chooses her jobs now. The down side to temping only is health insurance in most cases ...
