Haven't heard anything, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed, especially if it's the expanded EPA.

Here is a link to a thread about information regarding the EPA & the expanded EPA. The expanded EPA allows for the release of inmates who are within 1 year of their parole date.

Darn I got all excited, then I read that they have to have been in there 6 months already. My guy has only been in since the day after Christmas...he should only have 10 months until parole eligibility left. Oh well, hope this helps out some of you.

my husband has a meth conviction. is he still eligible for epa? i read something back in 2004 that said no meth convictions, but i haven't found anything on adc's website about it. his TE date is october 2006.

Welcome to PTO!

From what I've heard, people with meth convictions are eligible, but I haven't seen anything in writing either way.

Okay, I just got off the phone with someone from ADC and if someone has a meth conviction they are NOT eligible for EPA. I'm pretty bummed out because this excludes my fiance also. :(

You are elegible for the epa if you have a meth conviction. I know I had one. They are not elegible for the 1 year epa if they are under 70% but the 70% meth convictions are elegible for the 90 day epa. If the meth conviction is not 70% then they are elegible for both epa's 90 day and 1 year. The only people n ot elegible for epa are violent and sex offenders. I made the epa with 70% I know you can make the 90 day epa.

Finally Free, you can make the 90 day EPA even if you are a violent offender. I know, my husband is one :p

it looks like my hubby should qualify. he has a meth conviction, but he is not under the 70% rule. how do i find out officially? do you have to call adc or will he just get a letter or call one day saying he's going before the parole board early?

I called the prison general information number 870-267-6999 and spoke to someone there (don't remember their name) and they were able to tell me that my fiance was NOT on the list. They told me there that you were not eligible if you had a meth conviction, but you know how things go - Finallyfree said he was able to get out, so I guess that all just depends on who you talk to. Good luck!

Is it true that everyone has to go up before the parole board in person?? Also do they go in person on the E.P.A,,

i know of at least one person who didn't have to go before the parole board. a few months before his p.e. date, his "jacket" went up and then he got a letter saying he was approved. as for epa, i don't know.

I really dont understand alot of this.My son just left for adc today. One of the boys in jail with him called tonight and told me.I guess he will go to Pine Bluff first? He has been in county for 6 months and 13 days.He recieved credit for that. Are they allowed visitors in diagnostics? He recieved 4 years for probation violation with no new charges

the only people i know of who have received visits at diagnostics are those who are permanently assigned there.

No visits for short hairs (new commitments) You must first fill out a visitation for and those will not be available to them until they get to their parent unit.
