How many of you thought things were ok at Ventress?Last I heard all quarantines due to the chicken pox would be lifted then today an article comes out in the paper today saying there are 26 confirmed cases of TB. What is going on? My fiance has been telling me that it was all a cover up but I thought he was over reacting.

I spoke to my son yesterday (dorm#7) he said they were off quarantine, I haven't read the article ...but I am about to call Ventress....will advise.

Ok I spoke to Ms. Kerry (warden secretary) she said the media is blowing this up more than what it is. They ha 1 confirmed case of TB and he was moved. The other 26 have the infection, but not full blown TB, as the article says having the infection poses no threat to others, per Scott Jones with the TB control division. Ms. kerry said the only prioners still under quarantine are the these 26 and the others that need to be re-tested. I spoken to Ms. Kerry several times, I don't think she is covering anything up, maybe the media as always making a story more than what it really is or maybe they didn't have anything else to write about yesterday. Think about it this is old news, it's beeen going on since December. Just my thoughts for what it's worth. But any worried call Ms. Kerry, she is very nice and has always taken my calls.

Thanks Linda. I just worry because I hope everyone that was exposed to it was tested because latent tb can turn into active tb if its not treated. Then the treatment last 6 to 9 months. I spoke to someone at doc today too and they confirmed that there are no active cases

You are quite welcome. I get worried too, believe me I call so much when Ms. Kerry picks up I just say "Hi Girlfriend" and she says hi Linda. Thats pretty bad! I am so very glad Jason will be leaving Ventress in the next 13 days, he has a review hearing on 2/23, so they are bring him back to county. I pray he is realease then, but if not maybe they keep him in county until his eos 4/19. That is if all goes well in court. I'm Praying!

Thanks for the prayers, we going to need them..the Judge is not happy with my son since he refused the TC program, but hopefully he will just charge him with contempt. But I guess we shall see in 13 days...it will be the first time have seen Jason in 10 mths, he made me promise to never come to Ventress.
Your family will be in my prayers as well.
