Pisces, I'm sure someone will respond to your post soon. I've not experience the camp (I'm female) but I'm very familiar with the area and have previously worked with some of the staff (vocational rehab counseling).

Since you will probably be self-surrendering, I want to warn you not to become overwhelmed as you drive into the area. Beaumont has a huge Federal Complex with high security facilities as well as the camp. Addtionally the surrounding area has several other regional facilities such as juvenile, county, etc. You will see a lot of razor wire, guard towers etc., that are not part of the camp. Camps to not have guards, they only have officers, if there is a fence, it's to keep others out, not to keep the inmates in. Camps are the lowest security and many just have a painted stripe on the sidewalk that you cannot cross.

Best of luck. Someone here will have first hand knowledge.
