View Full Version : Elkton, FCI - Need Info - New to PTO
Hi. My name is Francine. My husband self-reported today to Elkton, FCI in Elkton, OH. I am looking for any information on Elkton from visiitations to calls to contact numbers to the ins and outs. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Welcome to PTO Francine.... I'm glad you found us. I don't have the answers to your questions, but others will and they'll be along. There are many here who have loved ones in the Federal System or have done time there themselves...

Welcome to PTO, Francine. May I suggest that you name your thread a little different, more general. If you specifically mention a facility which is not known to people, many readers will skip that thread looking for a more familiar or more general subject. You will find many supportive friends here.
My son is in Coleman Low (Florida) and I'll be glad to share any information I may know of.

HI. I am going through that initial week that I'm sure a lot of you are familiar with. He did get a call out to me on Thursday with details about visiting, and if everything goes as planned (which I"m skeptical that it will but..) I will see him on Sunday. He was placed in Elkton"s (FSL) which is more of a camp. I appreaciate the welcomes, look forward to learning more here, and I'm trying to find the time to learn to nagivate this online forum.

Hey there! Welcome to PTO! My fiance has been at Elkton for about a year and a half now, so we're pretty familiar with all the ins and outs. Just ask me whatever you need to know and, if I can't answer it, then i can get it answered for you in a day or two. Again, welcome!

I was just wondering are there certain things that should not be worn like certain colors or anything like that. I already know about the under wire bras. And is there a good hotel other than the Lisbon Inn close by? Do you have any idea about getting married there. I already sent the letter to his counselor but we have not heard anything back yet. What state are you in? I am in Richmond, VA and this is looking like it is going to be very costly. I was hoping to find someone else that might have a loved one there and maybe we could ride toghter to split the costs. If you know of anyone coming from out here that would be wonderful. Again thanks you all are a great help to people that does not have any other way of finding things out Bless you all.:D :D :D

In terms of visitation, the rule was no khaki colored clothing (could be confused with our guys), but the policy has now changed. If they've implemented it yet, the boys now wear red jumpsuits for visitation. So, you'll have to call and check. I haven't been up there since they changed the policy, but it's something that I need to find out about as well. As far as hotels....hmm.. There is the Lisbon Inn, but it's the nicest. There are two more that I know about (Lisbon's a very small town): The Capehart motel, and the Trails End (which has now changed it's name but the phone number is the same, I believe). Both of these are pretty much a room with a bed, and a bathroom with a shower stall. Not too impressive, but they're $39.00 a night. With gas prices the way that they are, going as far as I had to go, I'm taking any break that I can get. I'm in North Carolina, by the way, and I agree with you about the transportation issue. Let me know about any other question, hon. I'm here to help.
