Has anyone had problems with counselors/sr. counselors? How do you deal with a counselor/sr. counselor that is trying to make your life miserable? My fiancée has been trying to get transferred because his mother has cancer and can't make the 6 hour trip to see him. He was told he couldn't be transferred until he takes programs. So he signed up for the programs back in early December. He had his quarterly evaluation at the end of January and the counselor said he is on the waiting list, but as of yesterday, Albany says he's still refusing programs. It shouldn't take two months to update his records, should it? This particular sr. counselor has threatened my fiancée, tried to set him up and told him his mother will be long dead before he gets transferred anywhere. He's requested different counselors, we've written and called the superintendent, and asked the Chaplin and Imam (he has a good relationship with both) to intervene, all to no avail. What else can we do?

omg..thats messed up..how insenitive can these counselors be, including some of the c/o's ...i'd complain about that big time. just cause they work in a controled surrounding, and treat you like dirt no matter what the/their offence(s) are..no one should be that insencitive to someones dying parent..im sure that they wouldnt appreciate if it was there parent who was dying..and they said you had to work,or stay on the job when he /she is takin thier last breath...how dare theY!!!

wouldn't hurt to write your state assemblyman and senator too. Go to the DOCS web site-there is a place to send in a question. Do it.

Don't bother writing to politicians. DOCS keeps itself politically insulated.
It's a waste of time and paper.

I forgot I even posted this, but it's ironic that it pops up again this week. I recently found out that this same counselor has been lying to us for six months. He's been telling my husband for months that he's been trying his best to get him into a program, but I found out he was denied this program back in February. So I speak to the person in charge of the program, explain some of the issues and he agrees to give him another chance but this counselor steps in again and blocks him. What possible reason could a counselor have for keeping someone out of a program? When I called to talk to the counselor, he lied again and then said he can't discuss anything with me and hung up!!!!!!!!!

And yes, we did have his lawyer, a deacon, a legislator and a senator write to Goord requesting a transfer-nothing worked. So, yes, I'm still making that 700 mile trip every chance I get-but the price of gas is killing me. And yes, I HATE DOCS!!!!!!!!!!!
