My boyfriend is at North facility

I don't know yet. Kev is being transferred tomorrow night. So what are the ins and outs of visiting. I am so happy but I am nervous. I feel at home at Wasco but, I am so excited to be able to touch him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He has been in reception since August 3. He got locked up in April 11, 2005. I can't wait Please tell me the good and the bad.

I like visiting because it´s very laid back. North is different I think, they are on lockdown a lot too. Jenn, let us know where they take your Kev! I´m going to visit on the 18th/19th and I´m so excited! Can´t wait:)

Any thoughts as to where I can stay????? I hate staying in hotels by myself but, Soledad is too far away to drive both days like I did to Wasco.

Kevin is a level one so I am guessing that he will be in south????? He is on meds if that makes a difference. How long did it take after transfer to get a phone call????? He is leaving Wasco tonight. I am so lost as to your visiting procedures. Wasco we never had to wait in any lines. Do I really have to be there by 6:00am to get in?????The CO's at Wasco were trying to give me tips on mainline visiting but, Wasco only has 2 yards, so things are so simple. I just want to see him next weekend and am afraid I may do something wrong and will miss him somehow. I know I am being a psycho nut but I NEED to kiss and hug my baby.

Jenn, there is a nice motel 6 in Salinas (de la Torre Blvd) or in King´s City. I believe there is also a motel in Soledad but I heard it´s not that nice. You should be there at about 5am and at 6.30am they let you in the parking lot and you get a visitors pass. And then more waiting:) I´ll be there the weekend of the 18th/19th and the following.

this may apply only to kevin's jenn when my brother was at wasco he was just getting aproved for visiting when they transfered him they said they would transfer the form or the form follows them it doesn't we still have not been able to see him since july 2005 they lost the form we had to fill out another one for ctf and now the waiting again. so make sure your approved with them also and that his visiting form went with him.

I am not sure where you are in LA but I did www.mapquest.com (http://www.mapquest.com) and it said about 4 hours 30 min. So you are probably looking at about 5 hours to the prison.

She's right. I drove from SVSP (which is at the same place) down 101 to 47 to the 5 to 110 and it took me about 4 hours. There was a little traffic going over the grapevine but it was still moving. I guess if you live further it might take you longer but 4 hours is a good estimate.

Hey, it seems there are quite a few of us visiting CTF. Will anyone be there on the 25th/26th? Maybe we all could meet?

I visit at Salinas Valley but I will be up there, if anyone does want to meet. Maybe we could go have coffe before visiting or lunch or dinner afterwards?

I hope to be there by then. I was just told that he can't have a contact visit this weekend because he is not classified. I thought that's what he spent 6 months in reception doing!!!!!!I would love to get togethter and meet with yoiu guys. I really want to go this weekend. Just because I miss him so much. the drive is a lot for non contact. but then agian I was driving 2 1/2 hours each way to Wasco 2 times a weekend.

Does anyone know where Kevin is housed???? he is in XW115U. I don't know what that is. Any clues????

Oh, and I called today and my form was at visiting. The Co's at Wasco told me if I had any problems with my form following him to call them and they would take care of it. Unfortunately they got to be like my extended family since Kev was in reception for over 6 months. Thanks for the advice though, lil lee :)

I know my brother was telling me alot of people with the quarterly packs have like a big get together sound kind of like a pot luck everyone bring some of there food so they all have some thing different.
Alot of guy have no one that write them or visits them so I have been sending quarterly pack to some guys in the same yard as him and they all get together and share the food anyway.
I guess they can also buy t.v. and radios so they are saving up for one
but they will need cds. I think its nice they help each other.

because right now he is in "intake" at the prison...like a mini reception. They will transfer him to south probably soon.

I checked the 800 # today and it states that there will be no visiting for North Yard for ANYONE. It had the wrong date, it stated Jan. 8, 2006, so I called the captains office and confirmed it was in fact for today's date, and that North Facility is on Lockdown, and all races on both yards are on lockdown with no visits for the weekend. The incident happened on North Yard.

The number for the hotline is 800-374-8474, press 1, then 2, then 2. The facility number is 831-678-3951, ext 4012.

I called the # and they said they don't give out the info if your loved one got taken to hospital. my brother is in north ctf I didn't know anything about it until today thanks megan for the info:o I hope they are okay!

I hadn't gotten mail in a couple of days and I was worried but today I got a letter dated the 9th, you should be getting one soon too.

Well Jenn have a great visit and I think it was a good idea you went this weekend because with the way things are lately in going in CA correctional institutions you never know when you visits might be taken away due to lockdown. So get your visits when you can:thumbsup: Drive safe and take care.

You were so right Megan. It was totally worth the trip to spend 5 hours with Kev even if it was behind glass. Thanks for the kick inthe butt to go!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am hopefully going up next weekend, should be contact!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited, I finally get to kiss the man that I love. It was torture watching all those other people get kisses and hugs. Kevin thought it was torture watching all those other people eat. Where people really eating whole pizzas???? He said they were but, I was only paying attention to him. He looks so much cuter in blue than in orange!!!!!

Maybe those of us going up in the next couple of weeks can meet sometime. It would be nice to put a name to the face.

I´m staying in Salinas. Will you be visiting next weekend, Jenn? I´ll be there. Wanna hold my hand?:) I´m soooooo excited to see him!!! Our visits are at central too!!! Yeah he told me that they have real food now and he was looking forward to the pizza. I was like okay what are you looking forward to more....seeing me or having real pizza? :)

no it´s not my first time visiting but for some reason I´m much more nervous and excited this time:) I can´t wait to go!! I like the contact visits there. Can´t wait for my hug and kiss:) It´s very laid back!

For all of you ladies that stay in Salinas at the "Motel 6" when visiting…. I would NOT recommend staying at the Motel 6 on Kern Street; it’s just not in a good area. The Motel 6 on De La Torre Boulevard is much better. When you book ask for a room in the back of the complex because if you are in the front you are practically sitting on HWY 101 and it can get noisy with the Trucks and cars on the HWY. And we all need our beauty sleep:p

It looks like rooms are running about $36 a night. :thumbsup: Keep in mind that when June rolls around graduations will start and rooms will fill up and prices might rise. So if you know when you will be visiting you might want to reserve now for then.

Please ask your boyfriend if he has any names on those that were taken to the hospital. Even just first names and let us know when you get back. My son is also on North.

I live in OH so even if he got a letter out the next day it takes me at least a week sometimes 2 or more to get them. Wish I could visit when they come off lock down but can only go once a year and that is in the fall.

Thanks for that info, I have never stayed in Salinas, I always stay at the Motel 6 in King City, It is off the highway and had always been quite for the most part. Rooms were clean too.
I have been going 11 years and drove around the area there to see what I could find when I first went and over into Soledad, there are several other motels closer but they didn't look like anything I wanted to stay in. They were either to close to the highway or shabby looking.

I always make reservations because if both SV and CTF are off lock down and there is anything else going on you might have a harder time getting a room.

Is ctf north side, still on lockdown? Are they allowed to use the phones? I really hope so, I havent talked to my boyfriend since he went to prison, over three months now.

I am pretty sure that they are still on lockdown. Speaking off past experiences the groups that were involved on B-yard will be down for a couple months. Even groups that were not involved will be down for a couple weeks but might get visits back soon. They need to conduct interviews and do investigations before they can program the yard. When they do release the yard for the groups that were involved they will usually release 35 years and older to see how things go and then if all is good the rest will follow. All we can do is wait and check the visiting line on Friday. Megan

Thank you again Megan, just how is it that you know so much, have you gone through this hell before? I am not allowed to visit yet, Im going to keep trying till I succeed, so I would be sooooo thankful for a phone call even, if you remember I havent even talked to him on the phone yet. Even though he has tried to call twice and the phone companies said there shouldnt be a problem with the call going through, but there is. Until then I guess I will stay with writing my daily letter.

I haven't gotten any mail since Kevin was transferred there. Almost 2 weeks ago. Is the mail always this slow???

Well the mail is usually really fast from him to me. I am used to getting mail everyday but this week nothing:eek: I am starting to think:confused: ...with everything that is going on at north! Maybe i will get something today. Also wasn't Monday a State holiday? If that is the case then the mail room staff would not have been working.

I "think" they get mail Mon-Fri no Sat. and Sun. I usually get mail Tues-Sat.
