I just got off the phone with a Snyder, Texas regional Parole office rep. I asked him to tell me EXACTLY what an FI-2 is. He said that it is basicly when an offender is granted parole and the "Board" assigns a release date. In the case of an FI-1, the offender is granted parole and is released as soon as possible after it is granted. With the FI-2, the board assigns the date and it is usually listed as after such and such time. In my husbands case, Aug. 1,2003. He said that Bobby WILL be released Aug.12,2003!!! He said that unless the date comes at the end of a month, the offender is to be released within that month. If it does come at the end of a month, release will be by the end of the next month. In our case, he was able today to specify the EXACT date. I asked why my husband has been moved around so much in the last couple of months and he said it is called "traveling" and basicly it is when the prisons are overcrowded and "headcounts" are underway to determine how overcrowded they are. When an offender is "traveling" he is not counted as being in the TDCJ system at all. Now, he did not say this but what I got from it was that if there are lots of offenders "traveling" and TDCJ does not have to count them, they are not penalized for having too many that they should not have. The man I spoke with verified that there are over 20,000 offenders being released in the months of Aug. and Sept.

Oh wow Tammie who did you talk to that they gave you an exact date??? I haven't been able to get one yet on Travis yet and he too has an FI-2 August. And has the local Parole office already okayed him to Parole home? See I don't know if he was already in y'alls home before he went in and since he is your husband if they still have to approve it?

Okay my bad I just saw you did say who you spoke to. Is that the local Parole Office where he will be living at?

No, it is the regional office where he is now. They recently moved him (AGAIN) to the Lynaugh Unit in Fort Stockton. He will be released from Huntsville and paroled to here, Williamson County, Texas. The man I spoke with said that this is all with the assumtion that the parole plan is approved. He said I should be getting a call from them soon to verify it. I got two calls from them back in Feb. but have moved since then so.....I guess it has to be approved again.

Okay Thanks Tammie.... I just got off the phone with the Bexar County Parole office and was told the same thing as before... That nothing will be set until they contact me and my home gets approved... But the Gentleman I spoke to said it would pretty much be approved as long as I am willing to accept him in my home! Well heck of course I am LOL... He just said for me to keep calling every week.. So it's still just wait wait wait for that phone call! Ugh...
