Then I get a call from MCI that I need to shoot more money, so I ask the bimbo and yes the rates for prepay would total $3.80 for 15 minutes no matter what time of day and the regular way is $3.64 after 5pm and $4.88 before 5pm. Now these are my rates, instate VA. I tried to get her to tell me what exchanges are local. She wouldn't. I will figure out a way to get cheaper calls. I feel like Scarlett O'Hara....With god as my witness, I will make it through this!

MCI.... I dont have much to sayy on them jerks. I know that I set up an account and she said the rates...she said something like the first 0-20 miles is local 20-56 miles, etc etc... she said they are different areas....but the cost is different per the mileage hope that helps!

WooooHoooo for dw!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D Ok, leave your purse in your car. The lockers are outside unprotected. Clear coin bag or ziplock. They are supposed to sign in at 830, they always seem to be late. There are only a few people there first thing. You have to wait outside to sign in so dress appropriately for the weather, specially if you go early. Uumm, there's not a great selection in the vending machines. No bathroom until you get into the visiting room (porta-potties in the parking lot..ewwwwwww). Park and then walk down toward the fences and over toward the tower (You'll be walking where the cars have to go through the secured yellow gate). I sat in my car for an hour the first time cause it was really confusing the way they have it all set up. And the only other thing is HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!!!! I'll be down on the 11th or the 19th, not sure which yet. I'll see you there.

I am so glad you told me where to go and walk. I hurried and followed another couple in. Had to walk back out and put the key for my car in a locker. I almost didn't recognize him with his hair cut and beard gone. I hugged the heck out of him and then said, "Excuse me old man, but I am meeting someone so you need to leave." :D

I timed it so I was there before count started and got to see him for about hour and 45 minutes. I won't be so nervous the next time I go. And what a kiss I got before I left. Still gives me hot flashes!

I feel so much better since I was able to see him and I know he does too! Thanks for all the information and support you gave me. It was invaluable!

I always go first thing in the morning because I have such a long drive. So I was sooooo confused when I first pulled up there. I had no clue where to go. I'm glad the directions helped.
We usually get about the same amount of time first thing. It doesn't seem to fill up until about 11 and we're usually visiting by 915 or so.

It was the key to my car and the auto lock thing. Now don't tell but it was actually the button to press to unlock all the gates and let everyone out!! <----kidding, dont' come arrest me for conspiracy.

Like the guy in front of me said, as he threw his grocery list he forgot was in his pocket into the trash can....."they have cue sticks and more dangerous stuff inside, what harm is my grocery list? Think I will paper cut someone?" He laughed and asked the guard if he could fish it back out once he was leaving.

I would say the guards are fairly nice there and I will feel better once I got the vending machines figured out and other stuff. Next time I will buy all the stuff first so it is sitting there by the time he comes in.

I always buy our stuff while I'm waiting. I'm so used to everything being sold out quickly at Coffeewood that it's habit now. The CO's have all been pretty decent. They don't say anything to him when he comes up to the microwave or vending machines with me. He even played with my hair and they didn't say anything.
I think this week odd is Sat. so I'll be going next weekend for the Sun. visit if he's not up here for court that is. Maybe I'll see ya there.

That's why they extended the time to make up for the discount. I knew it was too good to be true. LOL

LMAO...you can call MCI at the # listed in this thread. The problem is it's not that much cheaper so I would ask them how much it would be before you sign up for it.

I got my first 20 minute call last night. We are not on a prepay..... we were talking and all of a sudden he said , hey hasn't it been 15 minutes yet? I looked at my phone and it had been 17, so of course we crammed a lot of talk into the last 3!!

.40 cents a minute per the NEW 10% discount... MCI cant do Math because .43 10% of that isnt 3 cents....and my old connection was 2.40
guess what it is now??? 2.40!!!! LOL no deal there ok....so lets see they gave me 3 cents a minute off....so i save... 45 cents.... but wait...

i get an extra 5 minutes... ( which i love dont get me wrong)
so 5 minutes xs .40 cents = 2.00 more a call........LMAO where is the discount here??? my total for one call is 10.40 SAd!!!!!!!!!!!!

DOC: I like how you think. Now, we have to give a discount for this. I say we tell them 10% but when we set the actual rates, it only saves them about 10 cents a call.

MCI: Ooooo, yeah. We never have to explain how we get the rates to anyone we have such good double-talk. We just set them slightly lower than before.

DOC: Yep, that would still give us big profits and it would make all these people happy. They feed off of the crumbs we throw to them anyway. I go to the legislature and we sock it to these families really good. They are sheep to slaughter.
