Good Morning Ladies,
I came across this thread and read it, haha as you can see thats why im posting here.. I have a question, whats the difference on the east and west side? Does one mean more then the other? The reason why im asking, because ironwood is just buildings besides one another-- a, b, c, d yards.... thank you in advance for those who reply to my questions...

There isn't much difference between the yards. East has PWC's, violators, reception, PC, and AIDS inmates. West, Central and Minimum has mainline, violators, PWC's and I'm not sure what else.

PWC is the permanent work crew. They are the ones that help maintain the facility. Yea there is a unit for aids inmates.

THank you once again for replying. One more question what about the hole?

Are you wondering what the hole is? It's where they put them when they get in trouble. Not minor stuff, major stuff. They don't have any of their personal property (TV, radio etc.) They are in their cell for most of the time.

It's been a while since this has been seen. Thought I would bring it back up to the top so some of the new members could check it out.

Your welcome. It seams to help a little bit when you can actually see where they are. It has changed a little bit. There is now a electric fence around the prison, east yard. I wish I could find a updated pic. My husband built a piece of work out equipment that is on one of the mini yards on east and I would love to be able to see it.

I don't think there is a map that shows what building is what. I know all of them on east yard and a few on central. What yard are you wondering about?

Yes, that's it. It does look a little different now cause you can't park right in front of the building.

Just wondering... Which building is Butte day room?

First click on the east yard map. Once on that map start by looking at the very bottom, middle of the map. Then look to the left at the basketball court on the bottom left. You will see a row of buildings that are connected. There is a long rectangle building connected to a square building, connected to another long rectangle building and so on. The first long rectangle building is Alpine, the square building connected to it is Alpine's day room, next long rectangle building is Alpine, next square building is the chow hall, next long rectangle building is Butte, next square building is Butte day room, next long rectangel building is Butte.
Hope that made sense.

Just wondering... Which building is Butte day room?

I can only assume the photo of West is a bit old since it looks much different now (mostly crumbled and burnt to the ground), I printed the photos for my son and he described what each area was.

I spent the most of the summer of 2008 on the East Yard, Butte Upper.

Don't miss it one bit. Glad I am out, too. Plan on staying out.

If anyone has questions about 90 day ops, please let me know.

Oh, and a word of advice: never send anyone a text message in anger. Take it from me. I got four months and one day in custody, even though I had no prior criminal record, and I am now a convicted felon - all for a couple of text messages. I got to spend 48 days in L.A. County jail and 78 days at Chino, first at Central and then over on the East Yard.

I learned the hard way that the rich have one justice system and the rest of us have the other. And the cops beleive whoever calls them first.

There are lots of buildings in West yard. Did they all burn down? Does anyone know how they were rebuilt? Same configuration?

These are great photos!

No they didn't all burn down. There was only 1 that burned the others had severe damage. Only 1 wasn't rioted in. The one that the inmates didn't riot in was filled with old timers that just wanted to do their time and go home. I believe they are in the same configuration. I haven't driven over to that side since they have been finishing up on the construction.
