Hi my name is tiffany,
My husband is at wasco and is still in reception. He has been waiting to transfer to main line where ever it may be. Anyway he saw his counselor about 3 weeks ago or longer and when I called her a week ago she could hardly remember his case. I moved to illinois and b4 i used to live in cali. My husband and i are trying to transfer him here. P. Carpenter is her name, all she told me is that she thinks he told her about the transfer but he needs to discuss it with his parole officer when he gets out. I know that they can transfer right out of prison but the counselor has to get the paper work together. He ows restitution fees she couldn't even tell me how much he owes. She said she did her part and passed it on to her supervisor. Can i talk to her supervisor, I just want to get to the bottom of this. Anyone with info please let me know? I am stessign on this all the time, please help. THANK YOU!!!

first he HAS to pay his restitution in full BEFORE he can even apply. You as his wife HAS to live in the state that he wants to transfer atleast 6 months. Then he can start the paperwork no sooner than 180 days with his counselor at his prison. YES he can transfer straight to your home right from the gate. there is a sticky here on this forum about Interstate Compact. there it will tell you everythinh you need to know. I went thru this with my husband so if you have any questions just let me know. Hope this helped.

ohh yeah he probably wont know what his restitution is until he leaves wasco. that's what happened to us. they didn't put it on his central file until he got mainlined. the counselor at wasco only figures out what level they should be placed at. they don't deal with parole or anthing else like that

He only has until May to go and he thinks it won't be enough time especially since he still waiting to get to main line. I hope he can go to the phoenix house which is live in drug program so atleast he can stay there util he can start the paper work when he is out. I am still hoping that we can start the process while he is in there. We will see what happens. I will keep you updated. Thank you very much.:) I really appreciate it.

only if he has immediate family members ( mother, father, sister, brother or grandparent) at that state that has lived there for at least 6 months

Hi, if you wish to get him transferred to your state you will need to go through the Interstate Compact. If you go to the Probation and Parole Forum, there is a sticky at the top of forum under Interstate Compact. There you will all the rules and information needed. If you have additional questions, you can post there. There is a P.O. who is very knowledgable concerning the interstate compact, and he will answer any questions you may have.
