I just seen on the website that my B/F has arrived at MDC Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center. What kind of place is this because he has a federal charge and he is 25 yrs old. Isn't this for Kids under 18 yrs of age. Or could it just be a holding place for now. Does anyone have any info on this place?

my bf just was moved to MDC Brooklyn and he is 30, i believe that it is just holding, because he is being moved to FCI Fairton next week

mdc brooklyn is both- a holding place and for regular sentence serving...my boy has been there for the last 3 years of his sentence cuz it is near his home. any questions...holla

my bf is in mcc in manhathan it basicaly the same type of facility. their " administrative buildings" which means that thay have a floor for every level 0-6. iam not sure if in mdc they interact but in mcc they do.

i was in mdc for 10 months and it was the worst time i am a female so we were confned 120 women per 1 unit an open area and a little rec deck there were no windows fo air the visiting times sucked and the food was for the garbage but i did meet alot of good people and the c/o's try to give you as much respect as possable all in all dont do the crime if you cant do the time

i was in mdc for about 5 months im only 19(18 when i was in there) im out on bail now but mdc bk is just a holding facility until u are sentenced...theres all types of ppl there, from killers to pimps..LOTS of snitches too...visiting sucks its only once a week for an hour...food is nasty...theres some dudes that even got rashes n diseases in there(which are contagious)...ppl coming in from rikers say its the worst place ever...and the c.o's in my unit were very disrespectful..i guess alot of things depends on the unit ur in...

o yea theres all types of different ages, from 18 to like 60 or 70 something...it aint no place for kids...not many young dudes tho i was the youngest in my unit...

this is will be my 1st offense they are trying to charge me with armed robbery...they say im lookin at more than 10 years...my lawyer says my minimum is 7...i dont think is true tho im on bail now goin to skool n staying outta trouble...i think they only want me to snitch..but that aitn happpening...any1 got any advice?

If this is your first offense ever and it is federal you should be looking at something called the sentencing guideline. Most federal sentences are given based on criminal history points. Calculate yours and you will see where you fall on that guideline. Hope this helps.
