MY FIANCE IS AT ELMORE CF. I AM FINALLY GETTING TO GO FOR A VISIT ON THE 11TH OR 12TH OF FEB. HE MAILED HIS VISITATION SCHEDULE TODAY. I SHOULD GET IN 2 OR3 DAYS. I HAVEN'T SEEN HIM SINCE NOV.
WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH CARRYING $20-30 IN CHANGE? I READ THAT ON ONE OF THE SITES HERE AT PTO. I HAVE NEVER BEEN FOR A VISIT AT A PRISON ONLY COUNTY JAILS. I KNOW A LITTLE ABOUT DRESS CODES. BUT JUST ABOUT ANYTHING WILL BE REALLY HELPFUL.
EVEN THOUGH MY MAN HAS BEEN LOCKED UP AT KILBY TWICE I HAVE NEVER GOT TO VISIT. SO I AM NEW TO THIS. PLEASE HELP!!!:confused:

My husband was at Elmore last year...Visitation goes by inmates last name and its every other weekend. At Elmore the visits are from 7am to 1pm...The $20 in change is a new rule from the DOC. Don't wear anything white, make sure you have on your under garments, no sandals, if you wear a skirt it has to be below the knees and you have to wear a slip. No tight fitting clothing. Other than that Elmore visitation is pretty laid back. You have a choice on sitting inside (can get noisy) or you can sit outside. Get there early cause visitation can fill up pretty quick especially when it rains...Also, about every 3 or 4 months they have a family night where you can bring food and vist for about 4hrs...

Hi, there....my boyfriend was at Elmore for quite awhile..(from 2002 to 2004) - unless things have changed, here is what I know:

Do not wear white.

Do not wear sandals.

Do not wear a wrap around skirt or any and I do many ANY split in the hem line of your dress/skirt. And no buttons down the front of a skirt/dress.

Wear under clothes....especially panties under your jeans.

Do not wear anything tight fitting or see through.

Do wear bandana's, hats, or sunglasses.

You can take $20 (I always took more) in quarters (this is used to buy drinks, food, cigarettes from the store).

Get there early and get a number....they call you in the order in which you arrived. I was usually within the first 10 in and one of the last ones to leave. I love my visits with my man!!

Can't wear sunglasses, bandana's or hats...yes get there early get your number and they call them in order, doesn't take long, also NO tight fitting clothing..I have seen many people be turned away because of there clothing...

Oh, Lord...I see I made a typo way back then.....DO NOT WEAR anything that I said you can wear....LOL!
