Maybe I am a bit naive to the issue with tape. I tape all of my letters closed and I have been writing letters for 12+ years. What is the significance of the tape?

First off I wouldn't worry too much. Probably the worst that would happen if it got rejected is it will get sent back with an explanation that tape/glue/glitter etc is not allowed if that is the policy at that prison. If you are still worried you could always call the V&C department at the prison and let them know what happened so that they know it was an accident when they come across it. But like I said I wouldn't worry too much especially if this is the first time somethinglike that has happened.
Nuro's wife from what I understand the signifigance of tape/glue/glitter and lipstick even in some facilities is that they can be laced with some drugs or have drugs stuck to them between the tape and the paper for instance. Glitter could be LSD "in disguise", that sort of thing.

It will probably just get rejected, you won't get in trouble for it. I accidently sent a letter that had white out on the envelope, I wasn't even thinking. They still gave him the letter but kept the envelope. I didn't get into trouble for it, they just sent a rejection letter with a list of things they can and can't have. If you are worried about it I would call just to let them know. That will help ease your worries. God Bless You!

In NY putting tape on things will not get it rejected... FYI ;)
