i've been there a few times to visit a young pal of mine. it's very mellow. the COs in the visiting room are respectful. there is indoor and outdoor visiting. you can bring in your sunglasses for outdoor visiting and you should. it gets really bright out there.
the visitors center has lots of clothing in case you're not dressed to regulation.
the COs assign the tables. it's taken from 15 minutes to over 1 hour from my pal to come down to the visiting room. the drive is beautiful once you're off the disgusting freeways. if you have extra time, drive the extra miles and check out sutter creek. it's an old gold mining town not too far from ione (where the prison is) and a really nice place to have lunch. there is not much going on in ione in terms of sight-seeing but there is a very nice grocery store and a few restaurants (i think chinese and pizza).

I agree with you on the way there I took the 88 from the 99 and on the way back I took the 104 to 99. I will take the 88 again it is much more scenic. It is beautiful out there. The sunrise was amazing on Sunday morning. There was a little bit of fog in the foothills and the sunrays shooting out of that was breathtaking. It was a nice way to start the morning.

I always did the 104 from the 99. This month on the way home I tried the 88 and it is pretty, huh? Not to mention that Starbucks I stop by before my journey home.

My adventure lately has been foggy I come from the opposite direction. Jackson HWY 16. The only positive thing is at the end of the journey is my love and during the spring and summer months there is a fresh fruit stand.

I use to enjoy our evening visits before the change. I was nice enjoying the sunset with my love. Soon we will be able to enjoy them some where outside of prison.

We all appreciate the little things because that is what ultimately counts. =o)

Does anyone know if I can order those custom made CDs from a vendor and have it mailed to him? If yes, which place can I order it from? And will that be considered a package?

eiilopez
02-06-2006, 11:46 AM
I think CD are considered a special package..I have tried to call the mailroom to ask but no one every answers. I was on the Union Supply website at www.californiainmatepackage.com and there was notethat says they you will be able to order CD from them soon. If I find anything out I will let you know.

Well I don't have a phone so he has to have someone call my cell for me which is like once in a blue moon. He called on Sat. and all we did was "i love you" and "i love you more" and "no, I love you more" thing.

I'm more stressed from this school and work schedule. Plus I am debating if I should carpool or go solo. The person I will carpool with is family of a friend. Maybe I should to save $$$.

Yeah these guys have to "get ready". It's like dude, you don't even have any hair to brush so how do you get ready? Maybe they have to get into "I have a visitor" mode. He's the cutest thing.

But I'm like this before I visit all the time coz I don't get to see him often.
What we need to hope for is "no lockdown".

In October remember the lockdown? I was suppose to go that weekend but money didn't come through so I moved it to the following week. Thank god for watching out for me, huh?

Is next week your alone visit?

mselizabeth07
02-09-2006, 02:18 PM
Thank God you knew I was playing around. I just wanted to make you smile. =o)

Yes next weekend I should be alone. I don't know if your visits get terminated, but on your wedding day they won't so if your friend will wait for you to get out then ride with them. Are you coming up for both days? What is the cost of the hotel? I'm a little broke this month, but next time you come if you want to split a room with me I'll stay in town with you. With the price of gas being so high sometimes it's not worth it to drive home. Are you driving up Friday? Eiilopez: might want to stay with us too.

Besides I know a couple little places we can go and things we can do. I don't know if you guys scrap book. But I have copied all of our pictures and I'm now in the process of getting them into a scrapbook. We have over 300 pictures. It's crazy! I'm sure you guys would get a kick out of seeing some of them. We were so young. =o)

Thanks!! I have another one that I like better but I have not had a chance to scan it. Maybe tonight.

I talked to my husband today and he asked me if I had sent the money for the family visit cause he said that we would not get a date until I sent the money. Have you heard anything like this?
Babypam have you sent the money already? I cant send it until the end of the month and I would hate for that to delay anything.

LovingYou
02-10-2006, 01:31 AM
He has money in the account for family visit. He said it is a seperate account. He has like $50 in it. Just wait till he sees the real bill, huh? LOL...$95. I still need to "modify" it coz I honestly think I ordered too much but these men can EAT. I'll ask him.

MsElizabeth, I decided to go alone coz of drama on their side. I usually stay at this funky motel in Galt that only cost me like $48 a night plus I can check in at like 4am without being charged extra.

No, my visits dont get terminated both days coz of the distance & 30 day deal. They tried to pull a fast one on us last month on the Sunday. It was so nice the other inmates offered to terminate their visit so I could stay longer coz they knew I live in LA and only visit like once in a while. They staighten it out and I didn't get terminated. The CO at the end even apologize for the confusion. That was kinda nice and also told me to have a safe trip home.

Since I am going solo, MsElizabeth, we can hang out and get coffee or something afterwards.

MsLopez, cute family portrait.

eiilopez
02-10-2006, 10:20 AM
Ok so I asked denverswife who used to have family visits at Mule Creek about the money for the family visit. She said that before they will give you a date you have to have enought money in the account to cover what you are buying. And too make sure that you put "For Family Visit Only" on the money order so there is no confusion. As soon as I get paid next week I am gonna sent the money. She said she sent like $300 when she got her tax return so she didn't have to worry about it. Good idea.

Last night I talked to my husband and he said he went in to talk to the counsoler to check up on the family visit application. Well he said that the counsoler hadn't even done anything with it. It was still sitting on his desk, he saw it. Now this does not surprises me!

Did she say how much she spends on each family visit? Ask her to come here so whe can ask her a million questions.

02-11-2006, 01:09 AM
eiilopez, I miscalculated the total. It was not quite $80 so I think it should be ok.

Also since it seems to be a hot topic lately, do you think your man will get transfered?

eiilopez
02-13-2006, 12:26 PM
I am not sure about the transfer...he only has like 9 months left. He says that there are a lot of rumors going around about the transfer but you know how rumors go.....for me it doesnt matter it is not that much farther than where he is right now.

LovingYou
02-13-2006, 10:04 PM
My man was suppose to be transfered here closer to home but they changed their mind and he's still there. He "suppose" to get out Jan 2007.

mselizabeth07
02-14-2006, 12:56 PM
Hello Ladies~

Man I feel like I'm trying to catch up with you guys.

With regards to family visits, the money has to be there before they will aprove it. That is true. The counselor some times take a while to get things going. I'm still waiting on my wedding date, hopefully this week! =o)

Babypam: This weekend I am without the girls, so if you want to do something after visits that would be fine.

Regarding transfers: I'm not too sure what is going on. The facts are that there have been rumors in the past. The only thing that makes me thing that it is going to happen this time is that they are moving inmates in and move people out slowly. Either way we have 18 months to go. If they get moved to Folsom, we can have a slumber party at my house. lol I will only be about 15 minutes away. At this point I am pretty much leaving it in God's hands.

Even though Folsom is closer. We have been through a lot of drama in the past. At least at MC we know what to expect and already have the system down. The only really positive thing at Folsom that I've heard is that once your in visiting you don't get terminated. Which would definately be a plus, since right now I go Sat & Sun all month and if I get 10 hours total that is a plus. =o(

It's really frustrating. Years ago when we use to go to PB I would drive on Thursday night all night, get ready Friday morning and visit with him for three days. No termination. 24 hours, granted they were really strick there, but we were able to spend time together. =o)

46 more weeks until 2006 is OVER!!!

LovingYou
02-14-2006, 01:26 PM
mselizabeth you're right about folsom. I don't want him back there either. At least he's behaving at MC. But like you said who knows. The lady I was suppose to carpool with backed out coz her husband got transfered two weeks ago. I just hope to sneak in one family visit before he moves.

Hello everyone...:) It's nice to have a thread for all things Mule Creek. My man is there serving a life sentence...:slap:   I've been going there to visit him now for a little over a year. (He's been in for 15 years) The c/o's there are all fairly nice...the only thing I don't like is the LONG lines on visiting day... :banghead: Depends though on what time you go, usually...but I've heard that Mule Creek is one of the ones here in Cali that get the most visitors. But once I get in there and see my baby's face I know it was all worth it...:D

What yard is everyone's man/loved one in? Mine is on A yard...

MsElizabeth, you are too funny. Sometimes I think like a man :). I just wanna be able to visit and relax!! Not have to worry about being terminated. You know...

yeah coz it cost too much, then I have to get the ex to watch the boys and all that drama! The lady said she will try to marry us before the 3rd week of March. She will call me next week if the chaplain returns Tuesday coz I guess Monday is a holiday. It's a holiday but not big enough for us to visit.

mselizabeth07
02-17-2006, 03:06 PM
=o( I know there are all kinds of holidays that they don't get. =o( The one that makes me MAD is the day after Thanksgiving. Becuase when I use to drive heck of far to see him for Thanksgiving there was nothing to do all day on Friday and it made no sense to drive home because I could see him on Saturday. =o(

This year I feel that we got ripped off on Christmas. They should have given us an extra day since it fell on a Sunday. =o( I guess I forgot we are dealing with CDC and they don't care. =o(

I haven't been able to visit now for a couple of months...:( Money has been a little tight...started before the holidays hit...then BAM! Mama is broke...:blah: LOL! But I'm going to finally be able to go see my baby next weekend, I think. If not, then the weekend after that one. I need my fix of lovin'...   LOL!

Ladies have any of you purchased packages with Union Supply?? I ordered from them and they messed up the order!! So My husband was not allowed the radio I ordered because they put it in the Quartlery Package. See when I was ordering online I placed two orders one quarterly and one special package. Well the system allowed me to select the radio when I was ordering the quarterly package. For his special package I bought him a cross and a chain. Any how after placing both orders I realized that the radio was with the quarterly package, so I called them and left a message for the lady who does the internet orders...she never called me back. So my husband got the packages today and he was not allowed to get the radio. They are sending it back at his expense. I am going to call them tomorrow!!!

Anyway have any of you used them or any other ones? Which one do you prefer?

queenbeas21
02-22-2006, 06:37 PM
E, that's crap! I'm sorry that happened to you. I've only been able to send one package and I used Union Supply because I thought that was the only game in town. Ben can't get packages in the hole and because I'm out of work I wouldn't be sending one this quarter even if he could get one. :(

Why would they care the radio was in the regular order I'm wondering if it was part of the package? I'm still so green with the rules!

Take care.

I don't care for Union Supply coz I ordered shoes from them and they said they have it and they sent him some ugly a$$ shoes. They lied to me and they say once an order is placed that's it and if he wants to return the shoes, he has to return the whole package(who is gonna do that?).
I prefer packages r us or access. Don't have problems with them. Sorry you have to go through this.

I won't be on here for long, I'm going home early today and tomorrow is my day off. I haven't heard from my love in a couple of days, I hope everything is fine. Either way I will find out on Saturday.

Morning ladies! I hope everyone is well and fine. I just got back from an interview. We'll see what happens. It's only a contract position for 4 months and the pay is crap, so we'll see.

Ms, have a swell visit this weekend. El, sorry you're unable to go. Both Lov and I know how hard it is not seeing your man every week!

Lov, thanx for the websites to the other two places for quarterly packages. Wonder if I'll ever be able to send another!

This holiday has sure messed up me getting any letters. I haven't had a letter since Saturday and I don't even think I'll get one today. It's my own form of communication with the fella since he's been in the dungeon. I sure do miss him. I had such a blue evening last night thinking about him and wondering how he is. He's my soul and inspiration. He's such a happy fellow! He can pick me up when I'm down even in a letter. Gotta love a guy like that!

El, what did we decide to do about our chat? Are we staying here? Denver mentioned our chat wasn't sticky worthy. I don't know enough about this site so I will go with the flow. It is nice to know there is one place to chat. Also, are we changing names? I appreciate each and every one of you so much. Your support is truly a blessing since I thought I was in this all alone. I also up and joined in on the 2007 Club. Doesn't look like there's much action there, but I'm sure it will be good support as the time draws near for each of our fella's releases. Ms, be assured I for one will stay in touch to pull you through and give you updates on how things go for me once my honey comes home.

Everyone take care and have a swell day!

Don't send blank postcards - they usually don't get through. Don't send writing instruments either as they won't go through. I've sent stamps, envelopes and writing paper and that goes through just fine. I've sent photos too - mine have not been risqué, but a couple of others have sent some "glamor" shots and they've gone through too. Don't send books - they won't get through unless they're from an approved vendor. You can send articles from the computer and that will go through. I did a calendar and put it in protective sheets and tied it with a ribbon and that went through too.

That's about all I've tried so far.

Hope this helps.

no stickers or glitter or glue . Newspaper clippings is fine. Stuff that is stuck together with tape is fine. Enclosing a note on a post-it is fine. Suggestive photos - your high beams must be covered and your privates must be covered. Mazes, crossword puzzles etc. printed out is fine.
