Hello everyone! I am going to be sentenced on July 15th, and am looking at around 6+ years. I live in Oklahoma, so I am thinking of Carswell or Bryan. For some reason I thought that Carswell was only a medical facility...is that true? I am utterly freaking out...I have a 7 year old daughter that I am so scared is going to be so emotionally scarred by all of this! I am glad I found this site, and will continue to look around to see if I can find out more info myself. :D
Welcome to PTO! I'm glad you found us and decided to join....

i know there is a female camp at carswell as well as the medical facility.

Thank you for your reply! I don't get on the computer too much...maybe once a day or so! I am just overwhelmed by everything that is going on right now! But I have heard about the participation in a drug rehab program too, and how that could possibly lower your sentence by 12 mos or so. I will continue checking in! Thanks so much!

Hi and Welcome to PTO! Here is some information that I copied from another member who had posted it. Hope it helps give you a little more information!
-----------------------------------
The residential program is KEY.
Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP)

The regs themselves: http://www.bop.gov/progstat/5330_010.pdf
In summary these programs are only offered at select prisons, and the criteria to get in them are strict. I believe the best way to get into one is to have judge recommend it at sentencing. I think the inmate must have done drugs in the past of year, and not have a history of violence, or gun charges. Also I beleive the sentence must be for 2 or more years to be eligble. There are some prison consultant companies that claim to assist in getting the inmate into these choice programs, they seemed to be pricey though.
A google search of rdap can help you investigate this:

I wish you and yours the best of luck.
