When my fiance gets paroled out we may be living in one county but then want to transfer to another one ASAP. I know he has to stay within the county he is paroled out to for 30 days - but does anyone know how long it may take before he is able to transfer to the other county if we put the paperwork for the transfer in the 1st day he meets with his parole officer?

The simple answer is that it takes as long as the parole officer wants it to take. It will also depend on where he wants to go and the case load of the officers that are there. He should be able to go quickly if there is a reason for him to move, such as job or family. The more the parole officer likes him the easier things will go. Should the parole officer in any way thinks he is going to be trouble or use drugs he will make his life miserable.

Thanks for the info FinallyFree! That seems to be the answer I'm hearing - that it just really depends on the parole officer. We have very good reasons for wanting to move - the biggest being that I attend and he wants to attend college in the county we want to move to and so on. But we'll just be happy he's out, no matter where we are living.
