Hello everyone I was wondering if anyone had any information of the visiting at Salinas Valley State Prison. I just found out this morning that my papa was just put on the bus coming from Calipatria:) I am so happy, I haven't seen or heard from him since he left DVI in December. He was put in the hole for his own protection for 3 of the 4 weeks he was in Calipatria because of threats against him. Basically he was way out of bounds down south. I have been so worried from not knowing what was going on, no mail for 3 weeks until today, I got a flood of letters written since December 30th, it was like Christmas all over again. Best part is he sent me his copy of his endorsment to SVSP. I called Calipatria and he was just transferred, YESSS! So any info on SVSP will be greatly appreciated.

Congratulations on your move, I know that is a relief. I was living in Hayward when i fist started visiting at Salinas Valley so the ride is quick, just jump on 880 and get off at the 101 South interchange and go SOuth until you see the Correctional Facility exit of 101, make a left and jumop in the line. My husband is there and I used to visit every weekend so I know a lot about how it goes, if you have any questions. Its been over a year since I was up there so you might also want to check out our All things Salins Valley thread: http://www.prisontalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=171245
Nice to meet another SVSP wife!!! Welcome to the family!

Andrea, that's great news girl! :hifive: I'm sure it did feel like christmas again to get all his letters and then the great news of him getting transferred! I live in San Jose and from my house to SVSP it's exactly 1 hour. So it will probably be about 1 1/2 hours for you, which isn't bad at all girl! My man use to be 6 1/2 hours one-way away from me, now he's only 3 hours away...but dang 1 1/2 hours is a blessing! :)
Congrats and though I do not visit at SVSP, I'm sure someone will come along with more in depth info. for ya!
