Just wanted to give everyone a brief intro. In 1994 my Ex struck me in the jaw and broke it in 6 places this was the first time he ever struck me. The police chargeed him with just domestic assualt and he plead not guilty. While waiting for trial I attended a silent witness program here and talked to our atty. general and they changed his charge to a felony. Even though i was scared to death I showed up at the court house and had to testify against a man I LOVED and had planned to marry. he was convicted and sentaced to 11-15 yrs. i was hurt, angry and still loved him. In the process of court i got a therapist and worked through the feelings and realized i did not love him i was in love with the idea of being in love. I stayed at a crisis shelter for 4 monthes waiting for a space at the long term shelter to open up. I moved in there and completed the program and began working there. In the process i became a domestic violence advocate. thus the reason i am here i have lots of information on domestic violence so if anyone wants any let me know or if you do not want to post here then pm me.
