Our first visit with our son at St.Clair on Sunday Jan 22. The facility is located approx. 6 miles off of I-59 with directions posted. The facility was
clean inside and outside and found the staff friendly. If you don't know the rules be sure that you get them for we found a few things that had be
changed as of last week. Upon leaving we got the list of rules and the visitation time (they use the 1st letter of last name) for you to know when you can visit. After being padded down we each received a visitors
pass. We then went upstairs to visiting area greeted by a guard and gave
our pass and information sheet to him. We got us a table and shortly afterwards our son came out. We was our able to give our son a big hug
and visit with him for 3 hrs. This is my baby and drugs put him there!!!!
You are able to smoke outside but you have to buy cigarettes out of machine $4.50. Be sure you have only $20.00 all in quarters. The vending
machines only take quarters. Be glad to answer any questions on my visit

My guy's been there since June but I haven't been there yet, however my in-laws have been several times and reported that it's very nice visiting there compared to some of the places we've been. Glad you got your visit! :)

My brother will be going to St.Clair soon and i would like to know how they feel about kids visting?Our mother is in a wheelchair how do they feel about us bring that in? This will be our 1st visit to a prison, so I'm not sure what to expect.This has been a great web site for me to find out info.

My son is at St.Clair. Yes children can come and also your mother but they will all have to be approved by the staff. Children must submit birth certificate (maybe a copy) and all adults will have to give them ss# and drivers license #. Your brother will let you know what to do. They have an elevator your mom can ride on to the visiting area it is upstairs. Good luck and God Bless yall....mother1952
