COUSHATTA, La. -- His head skewed a little to the right to compensate for his blind eye, Robert Cumber scurried off the plane, only to stop dead in the passenger lounge.

"They're not here. I knew they would be here. They have to be here," he said, sounding confused and just a bit afraid.

Gently, he was told his family hadn't met him at the gate because airports don't allow that anymore. It is one of a multitude of things that have changed since he last walked unescorted in public.

That was very nice story ,even though it should have come sooner , i remember years ago reading that book and the movie. Funny many of my pals have never seen alot of things ** we ** take for granted every day ...
