how do calling cards work at riverhead?

I don't know about calling cards...but my guy has been in Riverhead and Yaphank for 8 months and I signed up with GTL to get my collect calls....it was pretty simple ...call them or have him call you and you will be prompted to enter a credit card (or debit card) VISA or MASTERCARD only and then you can chose either 25.00 (which give you 20.00 worth of calls) or 50.00 (which gives you 40.00 worth of calls). This is the best way as I sure if he gets caught with a calling card it can be not so great.

another way to do it is through western union. any check cashing place and alot of supermarkets have it. you just go in and fill out the quick collect form. the payment information box is where you tell them how much and where. where it says "Pay To" put Global Tel Link and the "Code City" is Advance Pay Alabama. then you just put in your information ( you only need to put your name, the phone number you want the calls to go to and your address.) the only downside is it cost $10.95 to send, but you get signed up for the western union gold card, which gives you points everytime you send, and with the points you can get money off on the $10.95 charge, which ends up working really well. Once you get your reciept, it only takes like 20 minutes for him/her to be able to call you with it being prepaid. Hope this helps.

Hello new here and have questions please. I hope I'm posting in the right place! My daughter is being sent to Riverhead, NY, Suffolk Cty ( SCCF) for her 3rd DWI in a year. She did not have any accidents or anything-- just the DWIs thank the Lord no one ever got hurt, and actually 1 of the DWI were that she got caught because she pulled off to the side of the road to sleep but kept her car running! Anyway, she never even had a ticket in her whole life or any trouble before this. She got divorced and her life just went out of control. She is 39 yrs but sooooo tiny and quiet!! I hope she wont get hurt in there. She did not give me details of her sentance. I am not even totally sure she is staying at riverhead or maybe could be going to the farm...?? Anyone have a clue? Is she in a maximum place-- its considered a felony- but non violent. Also, what is she allowed to have: bras, socks, books etc? Does she have a real bed and a pillow and all? Thanks!
