Hi All
I am seeking direction in which way to turn in order to apply for a financial hardship for a tranfer for my husband.
Long story short
he is in avenal state prison and we live in Sacramento.
Financially things are bad and I am in a chapeter 7 bankruptcy as we speak. Also his child is in a CPS case at the time and his presence is needed.
So my question is how do i request that he be transfereed closer to home
like Folsom State prison so we can afford visits and etc. and he can be instrumental with the courts regarding his daughters care and custody
Please any help is welcome

Your loved one would have to see his counselor for forms to fill out, you will need to provide documentation to your loved one as well to show why you need this transfer. You can always call his counselor and ask them the proper channels as well, but no matter what make sure your documentation is signed and is filed with the courts that need to be filed there. That any medical documentation is also signed by the doctor that is actually treating the person as well. Do NOT give originals make them copies and if they request originals have the doctor office make another copy so you have one original of your own to keep as well.
It takes a while for those to happen so the sooner you get started on it the better.
Goodluck.

It is very hard and more than likely almost impossible to get someone transfered closer for medical reason we tried that with my husbands mom and they turned it down cause of some lame ass excuse and his mom ended up dieing and he couldnt go to the funeral, personally i think it is bs but hey what do we know right well good luck and hopefully he will get his transfer.

I have always found when you get all the info together work from the inside out. Meaning: (1) go to your CPS worker get documentation that he is needed to be present for all court hearings. (they may give you a hard time) 1 it cost the state and county money to hose inmates that are cdc inmates so they have to be housed eles where in the county jail, and transporting. Hit the worker with arent you suppose to be doing family reunifaction for all family members? Or see if you can get the time colk to stop ticking untill your baby's daddy comes home.
(2) Contact his parole agent and ask if he will write a letter of support for his transfer. Contact the ass. warden at folsom and ask if he'd be will to do a hardship and get it in writing if so without documentation the conversation never happened, THEY ARE BIG ON PAPERWORK. (3) Contact his counselor after you have got all your paperwork in order and ask him to start the transfer process. Have your loved one see his counsler and request to transfer. If he is denied have him do a 602 appeal process it may time but thats all he has to work with right now. Good Luck Jewls
