Can anyone please give me any info on what "PACER" is?

You can access all federal court records, you have to register, and you will be charged so much a page for documents you retrieve.

Pacer gives one on-line access to all papers filed in federal court cases. It costs money both to look at documents, and to retrieve them. The cost is .08 per page viewed and/or downloaded.

In the way of personal experience ( i have to check pacer daily for my son and other related documents) - you can get the bibliography of the case your loved one is involved with. For example, what motion was filed - what answer was provided - you can gather info from the civil, criminal, and appeal court cases. To retrieve the actual worded documents like transcripts, etc. - you have to go through the court (district or appeal, etc) clerks and pay per page. Usually $1 or up per page. Hope that helps!
