Hi, can someone tell me the difference between Yards.
My fiance is at CCC and he just got moved from Lassen to Gym Yard.
When he first arrive at CCC he mention that he was in a 3 yard Lassen.
I do not understand why so much movement in there?

I only know what I have read here at pto. Lassen is a level 3 yard. Cascade a level 2. Arnold yard is the firecamp training yard. I know of one person whose son is on gym but I do not know what level that is. Hope this helps some. As for them moving all around my son has been on the same yard since he got there in August.

Yes Lassen is a level 3 yard, Sierra is level 2, Cascade is level 1, the "GYM" is just that. Basically an overflow warehouse where men stay while waiting for a bed to open up on the yards. It is highly overcrowded, constantly noisier than most people could stand and not suitable for as many 'warm bodies' [CDC words] as they jam in there. It really is a gym and used to be used for that purpose, but we all know that bodies equal money, so guess what? I don't know if you are aware of the point system that is used to figure out where an inmate will live but it is all figured out at the reception center. Many factors come into play, length of term, priors, married etc.etc. Over time your points can drop depending on your conduct, that means that if you are on a "3" yard and your points drop to level 2 then they have to move you. He has kept his nose clean so know that the move is in reality a good thing, not so much for the living conditions but this too shall pass. Good Luck
