Me and my roomate would like to write some people that are on death row or in prison for life with out parole..Every one should have someone..Whether it be just words of encouragement from someone far away..Because Ive always felt we're never strangers, just friends yet to meet..And if we can make someones life and time a little easier..Then by all means why not..We sit at our pcs long enough during the day to type out a letter to warm someones heart,to let them know there are people out here that ACTUALLY do care. But if we wrote other prisoners..would that in any way cause problems for me visiting and/or writing my sister when she goes??? Becky....I have moved your question in to its own thread so you can get your answer.
No having a penpal would no effect you seeing your sister. Not unless you plan on visiting your penpal and they are in the same prison as your sister, then it can.
We have several members that have loved ones they visit and they also have penpals.
I have several different penpals in different prisons.
I think it is wonderful that you want to add some joy to anothers life.
If you have any other questions please free to post them or pm me.

Becky,
Please keep in mind that if you have a pen pal in Ohio and you want to visit them, you would have to wait until your sister is released before being put on their list. Ohio only lets you be on one list at a time.
I'm glad you want to take on a pen pal. I've had so many and have learned so much from mine.

Hi Becky! I am so glad that you are going to take on some very worthy pen pals, I have a lot of inmates from death Row in San Quentin, and Raiford Florida, and some in PA too that all REALLY WANT a pen pal-let me know if you would like their addresses! And Good luck with your new pen pals!
