View Full Version : Did Any One Hear About Mule Creek......(transferring inmates to Folsom?)
janetswty 01-11-2006, 01:06 PM Hello Every One.
Well Yesterday My Boyfriend Called Me And Told Me That The Captain Told Him That Every Body Was Going 2 B Transfer To The New Folsum Prison Did Any One Hear About This?
mselizabeth07 01-12-2006, 03:53 PM Oh my Gosh how true is this???? What yard is your boyfriend in? Mine is in A yard?
janetswty 01-12-2006, 05:56 PM Oh my Gosh how true is this???? What yard is your boyfriend in? Mine is in A yard?HE IS IN C YARD.....
denverswife 01-13-2006, 10:28 AM It's been rumored before that C yard is moving so that the whole facility can become SNY. Whether or not it's actually going to happen is another story. I've been hearing this same rumor for almost 2 years.....
JaimeeLynn 01-13-2006, 10:55 AM A similar rumor is going around about CTF, North and that they will be moving guys to the New Delano. I don't know, but, brace yourselves just in case.
I just talked to my friend in B yard last night. He said that they just transferred over 400 inmates there from Lancaster. I asked him about the big transferr of everyone from MCSP To Folsom and he said it was true but indicated OLD Folsom and that it was everyone at MCSP going, not just one yard. Hmmm the questions in my mind about THAT!
LovingYou 01-15-2006, 07:33 PM my man is going to delano which is good coz it is closer to home
looney23gl 01-16-2006, 10:13 PM Hey I just spoke to my older brother today and he wanted to know, if the rumor was true about MC inmates being transfered to Folsom??? If any one has heard about this can you please let me know? Or If anyone has seen any articles or heard about it on the news please inform me. My brother says Mule Creek is a ok prison, and all the inmates don't want to be transfered to folsom because of the 1 phone call a month and he says it looks like those castles prisons we see on TV!!!!!!!!thanks
LovingYou 01-18-2006, 11:39 PM My bf said they still have to wait to see what's up. He's been at folsom already and they transfered his butt from there so I don't think they want him back there. I also want him to stay at Mule Creek coz he is doing so well there. But he says they will know more soon. He mentioned they are transfering the "trouble makers" first. This time it's not him for a change.
Bob-bi-lu 01-19-2006, 12:17 AM So this whole transferring of inmates from Mule Creek to Folsom is a go?????
Are they going to transfer everyone?
Also when you say Folsom is it Folsom State Prison or CSP-Folsom?
mselizabeth07 01-19-2006, 03:18 PM Ok so as of right now the word is all of Mule Creek will be transfering to Old Folsom. Has anyone moved yet? How soon is this suppose to happen?
mselizabeth07 01-19-2006, 04:03 PM It's TRUE!!! I just talked to my girlfriend who's husband was on A yard and he was moved to C yard last week and he is awaiting transfer any moment. All of the yards at Mule Creek will be moving to Old Folsom. For better or worse. . . .
God's will.
eiilopez 01-19-2006, 04:10 PM Is this because mule creek is going to be all SNY?
RegisSweetness 01-19-2006, 04:17 PM Also when you say Folsom is it Folsom State Prison or CSP-Folsom?
they are 2 different prisons but on the same property
folsom state prison is also known as old folsom
csp sacramento is also known as new folsom
mselizabeth07 01-19-2006, 05:19 PM no it looks like all of old folsom is going to be all sny and MC is going to become an active prison again.
My friend heard one of the COs talking to the captain about it and the captain said to him "Are you really buying into all this transferr stuff? I thought you were smarter than that! Nobody's going anywhere" I don't think that the CDC has a clue about what they are doing.
mselizabeth07 01-20-2006, 07:03 PM I don't see how financially they can afford to, but they have started moving the guys out of the yards.
specimen32 01-21-2006, 03:40 PM i talked to my friend there and he said it was just a rumor. so i wouldn't worry about it yet.
LovingYou 01-21-2006, 08:28 PM I think they are moving a lot of them but to different places since they did move a bunch of them like mselizabeth07 said. They are working on moving my bf but not to folsom either.
Bob-bi-lu 01-21-2006, 08:37 PM I think they are moving a lot of them but to different places since they did move a bunch of them like mselizabeth07 said. They are working on moving my bf but not to folsom either.
Does anyone know what prisons they are moving the guys from Mule Creek too??? Also, what is the reason for these moves? If the men at Mule Creek are Sensitive Needs, then where else are they going to be moving these men to since a lot of the other prisons only have 1 or 2 SNY's and most of them are full????
LovingYou 01-21-2006, 10:19 PM Well they are trying to move my bf to Delano not Folsom but there is a "little situation" according to them so they are still figuring out what they wanna do to him. We're not complaining coz Delano is only slightly over 2 hours away from me and Mule Creek is like 6 1/2 hours away.
I'll let you know when I find out more coz I am real nosey and asked him lots of questions already and just waiting for his letters to get here.
LovingYou 01-21-2006, 10:21 PM He said something about they wanna get rid of the level 4 yard. ( I don't really understand this whole prison thing, sorry!)
Bob-bi-lu, what is sensitive needs?
Bob-bi-lu 01-21-2006, 10:35 PM Bob-bi-lu, what is sensitive needs?
Okay, I will try and explain it as best as possible....as I know this is a very touchy subject for a lot of people. Sensitive Needs Yards (SNY) are yards for inmates who are either (snitches, gang drop outs, sex offenders, ex-cops, celebrities, their lives may be in danger, etc..) again not all inmates who are on sensitive needs yards fall into one of those mentioned categories, however a lot do. It's a yard that the men go to who either can't program on the "mainline" anymore, who just want to do their time without the prison b/s and those who no longer want to program with the "prison politics." Again, there is some "prison politics" on these SNY's but not nearly as much as you would have on a "mainline" active yard. Once an inmate is placed on a SNY and decides to do his time on a SNY then he can no longer program on a "mainline" active yard as the inmates on the "active" yards really do not like the SNY's.
Everyone's situation is different and with the passing years there have been more and more inmates needing to go to SNY's that is why they are converting more and more active yards over to SNY's. Current statistics show that for every 5 inmates that enter into prison, 3 of them are classified as "sensitive needs."
mselizabeth07 01-24-2006, 06:57 PM MC will be going to Old Folsom and it will be converted to SNY prison. Since it is an older prison the are moving the SNY inmates there because they are less of a threat than some of the inmates that are currently house in active old folsom. MC will become an active prison. w/o sny.
janetswty 01-24-2006, 08:50 PM What Is Sny??? And Do U Kno When Is This Soppose To Happen One More Question Were Is The Old Folsom Located What City Thank You.......

LovingYou 02-03-2006, 01:50 PM I'm not even gonna try to figure this thing out. If it happens then I'll see coz they decided not to transfer him right now.

Bob-bi-lu 02-03-2006, 06:58 PM maybe i missed the answer, but whats gonna happen to the guys who are at old folsom? are they gonna move to mule creek?
That's what they plan on doing but who knows.
kaalilsis 02-06-2006, 09:48 AM Ladies have you followed the other posts re: the switch? This rumor had been flying around since who knows when and nothing yet... You all know how the CDC is if this were true and going to happen they would say nothing just do it and then we would all be yelling as long as there is talk of it, nothing will change...
sammielove17220 03-14-2006, 02:52 PM My Husband is in Old folsom. he just got there in November. But he is also saying that they are going to switch with mule creek and that old folsom will become entirely SNY. I talked to his counselor and she said the moves could happen as soon as april. Word is spreading about march but like everyone is saying who knows. Hopefully he willgo to mule creek it's about an hour closer to home.

eiilopez 05-08-2006, 12:24 PM When are these transfers supposed to happen? My father is at MCSP and is very ill. anybody heard anything new?
These transfers have been in the works for a while now...nothing has happened..it is all in the planning stages. They plan to make C yard an active yard again. As far as I have heard there has not been a date set for anything. I hope that helps.
Colossians3Two 05-08-2006, 08:46 PM Yes, there's talk C yard will be changing, and if that's the case, I'll be leaving you guys! :( So, maybe it'll take a while to complete the transfer. I can't leave you guys before I at least meet you in person! I'm already missing ya and It's not even happening yet, lol!
queenbeas21 05-08-2006, 10:59 PM Colo - you can't leave! Well, at least not our thread! :haha: Once a Trainee, always a Trainee - it's the law of QB! You have to pass through us to get to Folsom, so I'm sure we can meet at some point for sure. You at least have to stay in touch as you do now. It's fun to be involved in lots of threads!
Colossians3Two 05-10-2006, 04:34 PM Woo Hoo Q! It's less than a year now! You go girl! I'm so excited for you and Obe!
xoxo :)
queenbeas21 05-10-2006, 08:20 PM Colo, thanx, hon! We're pretty excited for sure!
Menukon 05-28-2006, 10:32 AM Okay, so I have just read the posts in this thread and I thank everybody. I learned a lot about SNY--what it is--and what's happening regarding the transfer. I coordinate a program whose volunteers write to and visit (only 2 of us visit) folks in prison. We write to a dozen or so at Mule Creek . That's not a lot but it's a different outlook than when you are mainly focused on one person. So I have these different dozen or so situations to consider when it comes to moving from MCSP to Old Folsom.
One of our guys just got himself put in the SHU and he's happy because they are going to place him in C yard. That sounds, from the posts before this, like a step toward going to Old Folsom. Am I interpreting that correctly? I don't think he will care about that actually. I just would like to know since I was visiting him.
In the post that explained what SNYs are there was reference to prison politics--of which I am oblivious--and of an "active prison" vs SNY. Please explain, anybody for whom these have some content.
The only "politics" I am aware of involves the prison guards 'union and a certain large percentage of staff who feel that their role in the job is to make every day of inmate's (and family's and friends') lives miserable so that inmates won't want to return to prison. It's the punishment vs. rehabilitation approach. So useless!
Thanks for all info.
chevsmama 08-26-2006, 05:07 PM Hi I just talked to my son who is in C yard and he says the move is up in the air. He was one of the 400 transffered from Lancaster in Dec '05. He also said the Feds are possibly coming to MC and doesn't want the move because it could cost tax payers 30 million--who knows!? Does anyone know about an organization called (T.I.P.S.)?
