California Ride-Share/Carpooling
This will be a Sticky in all the CA forums to make it easier for you to obtain the information for your specific prison needs.
Please keep in mind that PTO in no way takes responsibility for your Ride-Share/Carpooling experiences. We know that we are all family here but there can always be persons that do not always follow the LAWS. It would be in your best interest to know as much about the person you are carpooling with as you would for someone else you get into a car with. This is not meant to scare anyone only to make you aware that we are on the WWW so you really don’t know who is behind that other computer.
suemoore 01-11-2006, 06:44 PM Hello Ladies:
I live in the San Francisco Bay Area (Richmond) and am curious if anyone has a loved one at CMC East that has no way to get there to visit.
I have a dependable vehicle.
I am willling to do the driving to have some company. Also to share the cost of gas. I do bring my puppy with me and drop her off at Petco to get a bath since I have no one to watch her while I am visiting.
I visit rarely due to the distance, but would consider going more often if I had someone to do the trip with. It is a 4 hour drive from where I live.
If it is a holiday weekend I usually get a room at Motel 6 then visit on Saturday and Sunday so I have Monday to rest.
Let me know if you are interested in riding along and sharing the cost of gas.
Sue (Smooth's wife)
Bob-bi-lu 01-11-2006, 10:44 PM Hi Sue and welcome to PTO & our new CMC sub-forum. All the ladies in the group are great and youve come to the right place for support or even just to chat.
I live in the southbay, San Jose to be exact. Unfortunately at this time my fiance and I don't get to have visits. He gets them back in exactly 18 days but they're going to be non-contact which means I'll only get to visit for 2 hours behind the glass verse the whole day.
Welcome to our group and feel free to post as much as you'd like.
Lisa

I live in San Jose and I have a car as well but I would like to have someone to go with, my daughter is NO companny. As soon as the car starts going and coming, she is out like a light!
suemoore 01-16-2006, 02:43 PM Thank you for making this a sticky on this site.
It is very understandable where you are coming from. You never know who you can trust. I have had problems trusting best friends. Which are no longer best friends.
I have met a couple girls at CMC-East and would like to thank Reggies-Girl for giving me the info on this site.
This is a wonderful thing you all are doing here.
We are all on tuff grounds and I have personally had issues with CDC trying to get my husband moved closer to home due to his Mom's health.
All I got is we do not transfer due to hard ships anymore because of the budget. So they moved him farther to CMC.
How convenient for all involved.
Anyway, keep up the great work and continue to be there for each other. This is a great and informative site
Sue

neacie35 05-29-2006, 08:54 PM i need a ride to cmc prison i live in fontana,cali
neacie35 05-29-2006, 08:56 PM I need a ride to cmc please help please i live in fontana, cali i been searching for a ride over a month and no one wants to help
hunnyboo 05-30-2006, 12:56 AM Neacie: I don't think its a matter of anyone "not wanting to help you" I think that no one goes your way or is close by you. I know that I do carpool from where I am and have been for a few years now. I think if you calm down and wait or just figure out a way to get yourself there for a while you might just meet someone when you are there. But being persistant on the postings is not going to make anyone stop in thier tracks and drive out of thier way. Sorry, but for a long time I had no one to ride with but I figured it out on my own. :o
Alwayzkoolqt 05-30-2006, 11:28 AM if anyone is having carpool issues there are a couple of different things you can do 1st you can take the amtrak i used to work for amtrak and there is a stop in SLO just got to www.amtrak.com (http://www.amtrak.com) and figure out what schedule is best for you they also have a bus that amtrak provides to people going to specific places theres a bus that stops at Cal Poly which is right next to cmc you will get dropped off there all you gotta do is walk up the hill to get to cmc it may take you about 20 mins or more depending on how you walk...if the train isnt an option then you can take the greyhound round trip for 30 dollars at that point all you have to do is once you reach slo is find someone that is willing to pick u up from the station and drop you off i think you wont have a problem finding someone willing to get you in slo if they are already there
drenabugg 05-30-2006, 12:04 PM Well said ladies. Also if you take the train or the bus "Friends Outside" will pick you up. You can call them and make arrangements.
