make sure you get all the guidelines for apparel for entering visitations are you driving or getting a ride ,. cause its in the boonies, but for the most part visits arent that srtessful but its an awful place by sight and right now the fires may make it hard to visit anytime soon good luck

Do not even attempt to visit until the fires are over. I's really, really bad down here.

Visting at Donovan is very laid back and a lot different than any other prison I have visited. I only know about the visiting in what they call 2/3. I am guessing that stands for facility 2 and facility 3. My son is is facility 3. The drive in is okay. You go to a little place outside of the prison called Su Casa where you catch a shuttle in. Short hop across the road. You then wait for the visiting staff to call your number which is on the visiting form you picked up at Su Casa. When your number is called, they look in the computer to make sure you are allowed to visit and that your loved one can have visits. You then stand in a line to get your things searched. you go through their metal detector, then wait for someone to come and get you to get on a little van to ride to the back of the facility. If your visit area is in the back of the prison that is. The visiting rooms are old, like the rest of the prison, but the guards don't bug you too much. They have a guy that comes in a couple of times during the visit hours to take orders for food. Then he goes out and gets it and you pay when he comes back in. They raised the money you can take in to 20 per child and 50 for the adults. The food is expensive but the guys love to have it. The patio there is usually open. I have never had a bad experience yet and I go down about once every couple of months
