I spoke to my loved one last night. In a 15 minute chat I couldn't get details but there is a quaranteen (sp?) there now for 2 reasons - chicken pox and poison ivy. Other than that, he told me nothing of major significance.
And regarding phone calls. He was in Marion County for 6 months and I had money on account with Evercom, I would send $50 per month and when we used it up, no calls til next month. He gets moved to Ventress around the time of the holidays (with a stop at Kilby, of course), he calls and my line is blocked. I verified again that I had money with the Correctional Billing Service (which I did) but his wife gave me a phone number to call to get my line un-blocked. I think a new phone company bought out Evercom and now will bill my calls directly on my phone bill and they say they will refund my Evercom money. No one should be able to put a block on a phone line! As soon as the customer service operator answered my call, she told ME I was getting calls from Ventress. So she knew I had calls from Ventress being blocked before I told her what I needed. I hardly had to tell her anything, she knew my name, address, phone number, where I was getting calls from and how much money I had on account with Evercom. Enough of that rant.
