Did you at least get enough to pass a high-school equivalency for biology or chem credits? Otherwise, you need "remedial" work before you do Micro - it's usually a second-year course for biology majors!! I don't care how smart you are, you still need foundation. Are you doing this through on-line, or are you actually in a classroom? I'd talk to a prof about what the minimum precursors are. Maybe grab a high school bio book. Or find out if they have tutors.

So you just dove in at the deep end, eh?

I took the GED and ACT, however this is a tech program, Mortuary Science, and I have NO time for remedial classes they do not even make allowances in the time schedule.

Well, what is the type of stuff that is throwing you for a loop???

If it's just you need a basic *refresher*... I would pick up the CLEP or DANTES book for Biology. It will give you some basics and it can cite some info for you if you need more for specific info....

And I can help with some of it .... I was a Biochem major for 2 years, so I have a minor in Bio and an emphasis in Chem. :)

Also, you might be getting caught up on some of the termonology of of the class, especially if it is written at a college level, definetly take advantage of the tutoring your school offers, personally I loved Micro, I remember the day I found out that pus is actually cell poop.... Good Luck and don't give up.

i went to barnes and noble last weekend. i actually went to get my kids some books i ended buying some sparkcharts as well. you should go and see if you can find some they are thin folder type sheets that contain a ton of info, the once i got are called medical terminology however i think i did see one called microbio, they had several different ones wich i think would be helpful to you. my friend is a doc and his philosophy is a p=md. now do not get me wrong he is a great doctor just sometimes the proffesors have egos. he also says that when you go to college you think that you are going to learn the subject when actually you are going to see how to comfort the professors ego. basically you gotta figure out the professor and what he is actually asking, it is sad but it makes alot of sense to me especially with my a/p prof. i am thinking that this is true with any science calss. good luck.
