Hi. I'm new to all this, but, I can see that this is a really good site to find out stuff and get support.
My boyfriend just got put in an Arkansas jail the day after Christmas. He had 2 1/2 pounds of marijuana in his car.
He had already spent 1 year 9 months in Texas and was on parole to finish his 3 years when he was picked up.
Now today I was told he may also be in trouble up in Iowa for selling to a policeman.
Do you guys know if selling to a policeman is a worse crime than just getting caught? I'm really worried about him. He is such a sweet guy, just needs help.
Also, how do you guys know if your guy really is going to quit when he gets out? What do you do to help? Do you know any good rehab centers?
Also, how do you post a new thread? I didn't know how, so, I just put this as a reply.
Thanks a lot.

Hi Sierra and welcome to PTO! To post a new thread, click on the button that says "New Thread", located right above all of the threads in whatever forum you are trying to post in and also located at the end of all of the threads. It's right by the page numbers. Hope that helps. :) I have gone ahead and moved both of your posts in the same spot.

As far as knowing whether or not my guy is going to quit when he gets out, well, only time will tell. But I have faith in him and am proud of the progress that he has made towards sobriety (among other things) while being incarcerated. I help him by just being there for him, writing, talking on the phone, and visiting. I wish the best for you and your boyfriend and am glad you have found PTO!

I know when it all comes down to it, me wanting him to quit more than anything isn't going to make him quit if he doesn't want to. Yet at the same time, if he wants to, he's gonna need support and I am willing to go through all of it with him.
I haven't been with him very long, but, I just feel for some reason that I'm supposed to stick around and help him through this.
Thanks a lot.
