View Full Version : Mini Introductions for CMC
Bob-bi-lu 01-08-2006, 06:49 PM Hi, I have noticed that we have a lot of folks here with loved one at CMC. I would like to make this thread a mini introductions thread. So if you have or have had a loved one at CMC we want to hear from you.
As you probably know my fiance is at CMC (East facility). He's been at CMC since 2000. He's been down since 1999 and is scheduled to come home in 2012. We've been best friends since 1992 and he means the world to me. He's been away for almost 6 1/2 years now and it has been very hard, as we have been through so much together. We have faced many trials and obsticales but in the end we've always stuck through them together. If there is anything good to come out of this it has been that we have really gotten to know each other better and our bond together has grown stronger and solid. We still have another 6 years to go but I know we will make it through this road together. I love that man of mine and I will continue to do my part to keep our relationship solid.
I would like to invite you to do an introduction here so we can all get to know each other better and learn how you have managed to deal with this kind of life.
Love,
CMC MEMBER #1
bjvbsx2 01-08-2006, 06:57 PM Well lets see I don't post a lot of the time so lets see how good I do at it......
My husband has been in prison since 2000. He was at PVSP till 2003 then sent to CMC West side. He will be home next year which I am scared to death about but will make the best of. We have been together for 10 years and have to beautiful girls together. Life has had its ups and downs for us but we have made it through some thick crap (if you know what I mean). I am not to sure what else to write so thats my introduction.
Take Care
Amanda - CMC MEMBER #21
aztkgirl 01-13-2006, 11:59 AM Hi everyone! My name is Claudia and My Honey is at CMC East Facility. He's been there since September of 2004 and as you can see by my ticker that very soon, he know longer will be!:p
There are lots of good things about my man ending up at CMC.. and one of those things is all the wonderful ladies that I have met, there and here on PTO. I have gotten all the support a girl can ask for! I dont know what I wouldve done without you all!
A big Hello and an even bigger THANK YOU!
chueysgirl 01-13-2006, 12:10 PM Hello ladies, my man went to CMC West in August 2005 and will be there until May 2006 (lucky for us). I dont do too much posting on here but I have come to really depend on this group. I am so gratefull to have found a great bunch of women who really understand and comfort eachother. Loving someone in prison is a very frustrating thing to do. I have been on and off with my man since I was 12 and I have never loved anyone more than I love him. We have a seriously complicated situation but the main point is that we have a strong friendship and trust in eachother....they say the rough times will either make you or brake you and this has difinitely made us. I hope that before my time at CMC ends I get to meet you all...
drenabugg 01-13-2006, 02:02 PM Well, I am Drena! My fiance has been at CMC-East since Feb of '04. Unfortunatly he will be leaving there in the next few months but I will be staying right here with all of you! Can't leave my girls!!
MIKES1HONEY 01-13-2006, 05:58 PM Hi, my name is Sarra. My husband has been as CMC on the west side since November of 2005, he will be getting out July 16th of this year:thumbsup: . I think once everyone's loved one's start getting out we can have an alumni group number. Like Candy would be #1. Anyways i am lucky member 15.
justmomwaiting 01-14-2006, 04:47 AM Hi ladies! My name is Julie and my son Kevin is at CMC. He is the one that is in the "hole":( that I asked you ladies about. He has been there since Dec of 2004 and will be released Dec 2007. He got sentanced for 2 years for prior prison time and 1 year for robbery. He got in a fight in the Ralphs shopping lot with 2 other guys and took 1.00 from them. I guess some lessons are hard to learn. The other guy that Kevin was with got 90 days with credit earned. He didn't have any other priors though. Kevin has always been my problem child but I love him just the same. He is just a slow learner and he has to do it his way.
I have 3 younger children, 23,19 and 17. Two boys and a girl. My children are the light of my life. The other three have managed to behave and to live life on the straight and narrow.
I live in Riverside. I have never been able to visit Kevin but I hope to do so once he is out of the hole. I already have been approved for visits. Now if I can just keep him from getting into trouble.
Well now that I gave you my life story I will talk to you all later.
Julie
raysbabyg 01-14-2006, 07:30 AM Hello CMC loved ones, my man is in the east facility he has been down since Aug 2004. Sent to CMC June 2005. He is cosidered a violent offender. I orriginally thought he was sentenced to 15 yrs. But recentley found out he has a release date in 2016. We have a 4 1/2yr. old son together. I was not going to stand by him originally thinking this is crazy but I love him. I don't really post every week but I too get the support i need from this group. Loving a man in prison the rest of the world would see me as an outcast but here I read of others going through the same hurt, sadness, love and all the other crazy emotions that come with a loved one in prison. I am Connie CMCmember #3.
reggies girl 01-15-2006, 11:08 PM Hi ladies my name is Beth, I have been a member of PTO for almost 4 years and I really appriciate the friendships that I have made in those 4 years, but I have to say that this group has warmed my heart and I care for all of you girls, my guy has been at CMC for 15 months and was at Salinas valley st prison before that. he has a long sentance 30 to Life three strikes case it is crazy he stole a wet suit out of a garage, a video camera and $60.00 out of someones house and not last but least admitted to a burg he was not sure if he even did, so we are hoping the law will change if it dose he will be out so till then he has 17 years left 85% of 23
Even with the long sentance I could not do this without my strong faith in God (Jehovah's Witness) and all the support I have been given here, we all have a common bond we love someone locked away in prison, so if I can be some encouragement you came to the right place take care and enjoy
PS the pic above is of my brother Eric and I when I was 15 and he was 12 and the one of Reg and I was last month I love that man!!!!!!

Missin my man 01-21-2006, 01:59 AM Well i love my old man, there where times i wondered if we would ever make it through his life stlye choices, today i live thankful for our situation. If it where not for this seriouse consequense my husband would have never realied that i know best. I met him in 2001 before 911, when it all went down and i thought the world was over, he was there to get me through ( i was one of the weird ones that thought we were all going to be blown up.) His has always been there for me now he is gone and it is hard to figure everything on my own, I always wonder before i make a decision "what would marco think?"
123lili 01-29-2006, 06:39 PM Hello Ladies, my Big Papa's is in CMC EAST! We have toured almost all the prisons in CA, and this one seems to be the best. His stay this time is until June 2006. Were not married, but we live like an old couple, we have a three yr. old son that is driving me insane. I'm also trying to maintain my sanity by pretending like I know what I'm doing with the business we started just before he left. Besides being business partners, he's my bestfriend, but since he's not here I'm truely grateful for every single member of CMC for just being themselves. I used to wonder if I was the only one trying to handle this kind of interuption without the rest of the world knowing. But its more than obviouse that the real super women are part of CMC!!!
SnAn18 01-31-2006, 04:52 PM Hi all, my name is Erica. I just actually found and joined PTO last week and have just moved from CIM forum to this one. My boyfriend is at CMC for a violation and he was just transferred there last week. He originally started in Riverside County Jail at the end of August then went to Chino on 12/30/05. I have not been able to see him or talk to him since he went to Chino and I have not gone a day without talking to him in 2 years, so I am having a difficult time.
I did get a letter from him last night and he says that CMC is much nicer than CIM, so I am happy. He also sent me another visiting form, so I am keeping my fingers crossed that I get approved soon. Thanks to all the information you have on this forum I was able to get him a letter in the mail and get him a package the first day that I new he was there. I wanted to thank-you guys for all the information that you take the time to post, it really helps and is greatly appreciated. Also I wanted to say thanks to everyone for welcoming me. It is really nice to have people to go to with questions and concerns. Thanks again!
Erica

lipps90712 08-23-2006, 12:10 AM [quote=Bob-bi-lu]Hi, My name is Mel , My boyfriend is a inmate at CMC WEST, he has been there since May 2005, and will be there until April 2008, He was arrested June 2005, In the last 15 months I have spent alot of time crying on a daily basis, I began drinking like 2 40 ounce bottles of 211 beer daily because I was finding it to hard to feel the intense pain sober, He was in reception for 5 months, so from JAnuary until May we had no contact except letters, In that 5 months I was a total wreck, when he was sent to CMC, and I was finally approved to visit, it was sad because all I did ws cry, I could not control it, I was such a mess, During that first visit he ask me to please quit drinking and to promise him that I would become productive during the time in which he will remain at CMC, After seeing him that day, I decided to come home and convince myself that everything will be all right, Since then I have quit drinking, I go danceing with my friend maria on Wednesday Nights, we have friends that are blues singers so like 10 of us girls meet on wednesday nights and dance, I have also decided to take some real
estate classes at Long Beach City College, along with kickboxing and
dance arobics, I must tell you that every day is still very hard for me knowing that I miss him just as much as I did the day he was arrested, He is the love of my life, I have been in Love with him for like 13 years,, If it is one thing that I can tell you that is for sure in bedded in my soul, is that I do know what IN LOVE is, because I am still IN LOVE with him after all these years, so to keep the clock ticking, I am taking 15 units at school, and with any luck, maybe I can transfer to an on campus college just a hop skip and a jump from CMC, and be closer to him, anyway thanks for listening, I just thank the lord everyday that PTO is available, because without the support from all of you, I would not even know how to get through this, you people are wonderful, just remember, when your feeling sad, or lonely, or miss him so much your sick at the stomach, just go outside look for the moon, and out loud just tell him that you love him, he will be listening,,,,,,,god bless you
giggles1488 08-28-2006, 04:54 PM My husbands at cmc-west, we live in santa maria which is only a 45 minute drive but get this- they won't allow me to visit! I just gave birth to our daughter, who he will meet when he's releashed on new years day 07. Only 4 months to go! Last term he had to wait 2 years to meet our son who is now almost four. I have only had a 2 minute conversation with him in 5 months. We keep in contact through letters and this coming week he starts a job and i am going to get a phone hooked up at home for him to call even if it puts us in the poor house. Thanks for having such a great support system for the familys that are left behind. giggles1488
ErinD 08-28-2006, 05:30 PM Hi Everyone! My name is Erin and my husband was transfered to CMC-East last Thursday.
We'll be having our first contact visit in five months this weekend which I am absolutely excited about.
We've had quite a journey together.
We've been married five years this coming January and will be coming home next September.
We've been all over the state and are prayerfully at our last stop along this journey.
We spent the last three years @ CSP Solano where I served on the IFC and when they closed down the level 3 gym there, they sent all of the guys out of the gym to SVSP and put them on a level 4 yard where shortly after they were there there was a huge riot with the level 4's and 3's from the gym.
So we've spent since April in AD-Seg and they finally moved the lower level guys out of there. And we're back to a "programming" yard.
I'm excited about all of the new friends we will meet while we're here.
Thank you gals so much for all of your help already.
xoxo,
Erin

dexter56 04-13-2007, 12:02 PM Well....being a father, I guess I'm not the typical poster around here. But, I've relied on this site a lot in dealing with my son's imprisonment, especially when it comes to getting a picture of life on the inside and trying to figure out how to do things like post money. My son, who just turned 19, was sent to CMC East on 3/1/07 after 6 months in SD county and 2 at Donovan. He'll be eligible to get out in 2010.
I just had a letter published in the SD Tribune in which I made the case for common sense in overhauling the sentencing and parole guidelines in California. With the out of control state of the prison system here, it's time for us Californians to make our voices heard....even if it's just down at the corner grocery store or in the break room at work.
Good luck to everyone. This site is great!
reggies girl 04-13-2007, 11:20 PM sorry your son is in prison, I hope things go better for him, I have a loved one at CMC to, it is not a bad place compared to other prisons. they do not go on lockdown to much I have been visiting CMC for 3 years and there has not been to many problems, I agree someone has to do somthing about the failing justice system, best wishes maybe I will see you up there I go once a month to visit my freind.

vstears 05-09-2007, 05:59 PM Hello, I would like to introduce myself my name is Niecy and my husband will be tranferring CMC tomorrow. We are transferring from CTF, Soledad and I have just a few questions. On the phone calls I know he has to sign up for them but is only one time a day. He has a red card from CTF which qualifys him for a job at least that is what he told me at CMC, but he was able to call me all day from CTF also on the weekends. Do they have phone sign ups on the weekends? Also for visiting, I was never terminated because I drove over 350 miles and not within 30 days at CTF but do CMC follow the same time of rules? I did read your visting post but maybe i missed it and I am sorry if I am asking dumb questions.

girlinluv 05-10-2007, 10:41 PM My fiancee and I hope to be married this year. He was recently transfered to CMC, and I could not be happier. I live in Oxnard. I read about all the good info everyone shares, it is really nice to know there are many of us loving someone in prison without a limit. I haven't heard from him, does anyone know how long how before i do? Also if anyone can give some info about visiting I would really appreciate it. Thanks to all and I hope to get to know many of you.
Thanks

Hello Niecy and welcome to our CMC sub-forum. As for the phone calls, yes he is only allowed to use the phone 1 time a day. However, if there is a cool CO at the tower then they may let him get on more, but usually not. Yes, the phone sign ups are everyday including the weekends. As for the terminations of visits, CMC usually doesn't have that problem. However, terminations do occur when the weather is bad. CMC follows the Title 15 which states that if you travel more than 250 miles and have not visited within the last 30 days then you will not be terminated for both Saturday and Sunday. However, if you visited last weekend and then you visit again this coming weekend and they need to terminate some visits, then you can get terminated. Even though you drove more than 250 miles, since you have visited less than 30 days then you are not excluded from being terminated. You are only excluded if you haven't visited in the past 30 days and drive more than 250 miles. It's not a dumb question girl so don't ever say that. We all were new to an institution at one point or another and we all had questions. So I don't mind answering them at all. Again, welcome to CMC. :grouphug:

He is a level 3. I'm a bit worried right now as he was suppose to leave CSATF yesterday and something happened with the whites and now they are slammed tighter then a clock. I don't know if he left or not now. Do you think I could call records at CMC and see if he made it?
Thank you for the welcome by the way. I'm looking forward to meeting you all. I will be visiting my cousin when my husband is on LD at his location.

Yes, you can definitely call records and they'll let you know if he's made it to CMC. All you need to provide is his name and cdc#. The number for East Inmate Records is (805) 547-7900 when you hear the recording come on press x7898. I hope everything is ok.

slhammonds 12-27-2007, 09:52 PM Hi, I hope I am doing this right??? My name is Sherry. My husband has been in since 1999 and comes home in 2010. Yee-ha...only 2 more Christmases to go!! He is being transferred to CMC West TODAY :o( from Jamestown. This stinks because we live almost 5 hours from SLO. I finally got my wish to tour California..never thought it would be like this though! I am anxious about the unknown but then again, after this long in the system it will be more of the same lol. I have a great sense of humor and have lots of experience fighting "the system." I find strength in my husband and the women who share my experience. I look forward to meeting new friends :o).

Sophia805 01-24-2008, 10:33 AM  Well, one of my brothers was at CMC for quite afew years first on east yard then moved to west, befroe he was moved to Avenal. One of my lifelong friends is still on west yard. it was a blessing for ourfamily to have him so close to hime, but since he has moved they have only been able to visit him once. As I am on parole I am unable to visit him at all, but he used to get regular visits while at CMC so I am really sad for him. Anyway, I am grateful for the time he was there.
TogetherForever 03-02-2008, 11:50 AM My husband hasnt arrived yet to CMC, but is awaiting his bus ride up there from Chino CA at any time now....By the Grace of God he has about 8 months to go, his release day is in November. I wont be visiting him any time soon, cuz we are expecting our son to arrive in May:D Maybe some time after that I will visit with the baby, and hopefully a FV by then.
If he arrives there in March, about how long would it take before the FV paperwork would be processed and completed? That would be nice if it was done in time after I have the baby...and then a couple of weeks there after of course...plus im getting a c-section so I would need the time to heal before making that drive....
Anywho, not glad to be here under these circumstances but glad to mee all you ladies serving time with your loved one(s)....
Thanks in advance for any insight.
Blessings!

jule' 08-17-2008, 06:27 PM Hi ladies,my names juls, and I'm new to pto. I will briefly tell you my story of how I ended up here. You see, Ive been in search of my father since about the age of 10.My father doesn't or should I say, didn't know I existed until about 10 days ago.I wrote a letter hoping for a response from the person Iwas in search of. Two weeks later ,I recieved a letter confirming the info.I have so many emotions going on right now.One minute I'm up, the next down.I'm so happy to have found my father though,I can't even get through his letter without crying.I've sent a second letter, so the rest is yet to come.I,m sure I'll have tons of questions in regards to visitation, phone calls(I need a land line)etc.Any input or info would be great. This is a life altering situation for me,but with some strong support, I'll make it through.

Hey Melissa, and welcome to our CMC sub-forum. it usually doesn't take too long at CMC to get approved so your wait shouldn't be that long. The extra Visiting Form you have is signed by your husband right???? It must be signed by him or else it will not get processed. You will want to address your envelope with your CDC 106 Visiting Application like this:
ATTN: Visiting Lt.
CMC West Facility
P.O. Box 8101
San Luis Obispo, CA 93409

Thanks.... yeah he sent me like 10 apps signed when he was at NKSP because they never received any of my 2 there. SO just in case if I wasn't approved there I had extras to send one once he mailined.
chicoswifeytt 10-17-2008, 06:17 PM Hello, everyone. My name is Tasha and my fiance came to CMC East in January 2008 after being in 9 other institutions throughout the state. My man was my first love and after being seperated for many years, we reunited in 2006. As far as the CDCR is concerned, I have never seen such a waste of money and bureaucracy in my life. However, I am very happy at CMC East, they have their issues as well, but by far the institution is tolerable compared to others. Certainly the women that I have met during visiting make it enjoyable. Happily, we are on the down slope of his sentence, (about a year and a half remaining), now if we can just make it through out-of-state transfer we should be okay. We are also waiting to get married, so if anyone has any advice or suggestions on expediting the situation, please share!! We already submitted the application and documents so its a waiting game. Anyway, I appreciate everyone on these forums so much because without us sharing information amongst ourselves, we would be left to the wolves literally. Can you imagine having to rely on the staff of CDCR for all info?
cybrlid1 10-18-2008, 07:23 PM Welcome chico :hifive: to CMC forum - YES I think WE can ALL totally agree with you about the money and bureaucracy issues :hmm: As I was reading about your 2006 reuniting it brings back memories of my Fiance and I. After 30 years (back when we were literally teenagers) to now (in our fifties) how our paths have crossed and now we're also in the process of our marriage packet as well. This year and a half is going to go by soooo fast, before you know the BIG day will be here. My congrads and prayers are with you and your honey.
