Being new to the alabama correctional facility and having a son either at
at St.Clair or Ventress I need some advice. He was send from Kilby on
Jan 3 and I haven't heard from him since he left. He is in for drug addiction
and was on probation. What I need to know is his parole date is march 2007 and judge order him to do TC while in correctional facility. So, I just
need a general idea maybe of how long he might be gone. Any feedback
would be deeply appreciate. I just want the best for my son and our lives
be better than it has been for 10 years. He said he has gave his life to
our Lord Saviour Jesus Christ and has learned more about the bible than
ever. May God Bless all and their loves ones. Mother1952

OK, first of all I'm going to assume you mean his first chance at a parole hearing is March 2007. How much time was he actually sentenced to (i.e., what is his EOS - end of sentence - date)?
The TC program is 18 months, or at least was as of a few months ago. The parole board has been running 15-18 months behind on hearings for years now. Give us his EOS date and we might be better able to help you there.

(And PS - the TC program is at St. Clair so that's likely why he ended up there instead of Ventress)

Lysbeth,
I found out when Jason was sent to the TC program, there is one at Ventress to. Jason is still at Ventress, even though he refused the TC program, I guess he will remain there since he only has 100 days left, however you are right the TC program is still 18 mths. And Jason was denied parole back in Sept and i'm sure it was because he refused the program. The waiting line was pretty long at Ventress, but to get you more info, like Lysbeth said what is your son's eos date? what was he sentenced to? If your son goe's to Ventress (he will only be at Kilby for processing about 30-45 days), feel free to pm me, I have alot of names of people there that can answer any ? you may have, that we can't answer. Good luck, as a Mom I know how hard it is.
God Bless,
Linda

Hmmm, didn't know that... they must have started the one at Ventress to help the waiting list for the one at St Clair... thanks for the tip!

Ventress also has a TC program, but I'm told that the director or direct person in the dorms with the TC inmates at Ventress is not qualified for her job. Pray that God's hand be on that situation on each individual inmate in the program there!

The Parole Board is only backed up on parole hearings for violent cases. Nonviolent inmates' parole hearings have nver been backlogged. What is he serving time for and what is his end of sentence date?
