I finally had my visit with my brother yesterday at hazelton USP. It went great, my husband and my cousin and his wife went with me and that made it easier. It has been so long since I saw him last ( nearly nine year's ) and we just started writing in Aug. so we were both pretty nervous. We had a great visit though, we were the loudest one's in there, we were laughing so much. We had photo's taken. The only problem I had was setting off the metal detector! She let me in, but said to wear a different kind of bra next time. They drug teated three of us, but not my husband. I don't know why he was allowed to slide through! We passed though. It was exactly three hours to get there, but the temp dropped from 36 degrees to 21 degrees by the time we got there. They have been having snow, but the roads were clear except for black ice. Since he is on a mountain, I may not get back until after winter. If you can't tell I am still pretty excited. :yay: :yay:

Atalie, that is so awesome that your visit went so well. They need to invent a "prison bra". Nothing worse than having to take the wires out. It happened to my daughter one time and she was not happy. She said it was her favorite bra and they made her ruin it. LOL Ohhhhhh the life of loving someone on the inside. People out here that have never had the "joys" of dealing with department of corrections have no clue. :D :D :D
Bet you are looking forward to your next visit!!!

Atalie,
I know I speak for countless others when I say "I am Happy for You". I know from reading your posts the bundle of nerves you were becoming as this visit approached. I am so glad all went well. It is a wonderfull thing when families reunite. Just one of the hidden blessing brought to so many via the BOP.
Keep the Faith
Michael
I too am happy for you.
Once while my husband and I were locked up his college Sweetie went to visit him; the metal dector went off and they sent her to the bathroom to take her bra off. Remember this woman has UDDERS not breasts - she went through the detector fine without the bra, but her bra was waved back and forth on the dector to verify that was in fact the problem.
And this was in front of the entire line of other visitors............ ;-)

I would have been mortified!! I actually had a jacket so I would have taken it off, I don't think they would have waved mine around though.

I am so glad your visit went well. I am sure you are smiling more these days!
She was mortified - she was near tears and her boyfriend was with her.
