How do I find out what correctional facility my son is at? He was transferred from Kilby Jan 3 and he had someone to call us and
tell us he was going to Ventress and then on internet for inmate
search it said St.Clair. We have not have any phone contact from
him either. When does a inmate get to use phone. This is 1st time
I have had a love one in correctional facility and I need help.

You could can email Brian Corbett of the DOC or call St Clair..Once the he gets to the prison he has to set up his phone list, funds list, and visitation list which could take a week or so....he should be calling soon...and Welcome to PTO....

The ADOC inmate search is usually updated on Friday mornings, so if it said St. Clair from Friday morning on, then that was probably where he was as of Thursday night. And, most likely is going to be there for a while - wherever he got the information about Ventress, it was probably incorrect.

In any case, what's already been said is right - when someone is transferred it usually only takes a few days to get their phone list processed so he should be calling soon.

Thank you ever so much for all the information you gave me. I have been
worried and depressed since he left kilby and especially since I haven't
heard from him. His release date is March 12 2007 so I don't have no parole date he just told me hopefull maybe by end of Feb but if he has
to do TC program then I just don't know. I just want my son to be free
of drugs and maybe life can be happy for us all. He has throw his life away
because of drugs and money we have spend in trying to help him. I just
need someone to help me thru this. Prayers are for all and May God Bless

You can also call the pardons and parole board and ask for inmate services and just tell them you are trying to find out what facility your son is in. Just have his Inmate Number(s) on hand and possibly is ssn.

That's how I find out Deon was transferred or not. ASMP kept telling me they didn't have him there. And, I had made calls to several county camps that he had listed in his transfer. One of the camps told me they cannot give out that information and told me to call inmate services. After all of that he was still at ASMP!!!

Good Luck

You're very welcome. If his release date is March 2007 then I would expect he will *probably* be released then, but that may be dependent on TC. I believe TC is still 18 months, so if he does have to do TC he might not be released until 18 months from starting the program. There is also a relapse program there, which is also housed in the TC dorm, and is only 6 months - if they find he is eligible for that program instead and possibly based on his EOS date being barely a year away, they may recommend he go thru the relapse program instead.

So in a nutshell I would say that (barring any sudden decision by the state to start releasing non-violent offenders again, which they have in recent years), you can *probably* expect him to come home in March 2007 but that will be dependent on what he's required to do, and until he is accepted into and starts a program we won't really know.

You'll get thru it, hang around here, there's many of us who have, do, and continue to!
