Hi, i have a question. Do all inmates that go to prison get their sentence reduced if they have good behavior? or how does that work? And also, an anyone tell me what the approximate price for paper is in jail and if the inmates have to buy the envelopes also. And, one last thing, when inmates go to prison from jail can they take their letters and pictures they recieved?

The answers to all of your questions depends on which state your loved one is in. Every state has different laws. As soon as you tell us which state, we can move this to that forum so you will get state specific information! ;)

In ohio the get a day off early for every thirty days of good time! About the envelopes and paper. I sent my man a food box and a clothes box and included a pack of paper and 25 embossed envelopes. or you can do what I started doing when he first went in i sent a hand full of blank sheets and about 4-5 emobossed envelopes a letter. In ohio the can only have embossed envelopes to use. In ohio they can keep and take all their pics and letters where ever they go. you should look up the Arizona (or where ever your man is) department of corrections web site it will tell you alot about what they can have! hope that helps! good luck!

Hi there, inmates in Arizona have to serve at least 85% of their time, unless they are sentenced to flat time and then they have to serve their time day for day. I am not sure of the price of paper and envelopes in durango but I would think they have to pay for them, unless they are on indigent status. We have a couple of members whose loved ones are in county currently, so hopefully one of them will be by to help you some more. By the way, welcome to the Arizona forum! :)

Hi again, I just wanted to add that I talked to my husband this afternoon and asked him about your question regarding your loved one taking things from county to prison. He said that he will not be able to take anything with him, he will have to send everything out before he is transferred to prison and then have it sent back in once he gets to prison. Hope this helps. :)

Hey, okay then. Thank you so much that really did help. Thats a bummer that they have to sereve 85% of their time. But I guess I'll be okay. Thank you so very much.

Hi, is there anyone from the Arizona forum who can tell me the questions I've asked. And is there also any one from the Arizona who can tell me where Nathan will go to prison if his behavior is good and then if his behavior is not so good?
thank you

I live in California and my man is in Arizona. I get money orders and mail them to him. You to make sure that that payee is ADC and then your mans name and number. If you are going to send more then $99, then make sure you have seperate money orders. They tend to get held up if the amount is over $99 take forever to process. I would also recommend using money orders from the Post Office. Hope this helps.
