Does anyone know if Great Meadow is an SHU facility?

I don't think it is....I have a friend there and he has been there a couple of years and i know he is general population

i am not sure...

how do u find out what facilities r SHU?? now that's my question. ;)

i know (from experience--all too well) that Lakeview SICF, Marcy, Wende, 5 Points are box jails.

Elmira and Southport r SHU jails.

i am not sure of the difference--always thought they were the same thing........

each of the facilities has an SHU unit within the facility in addittion to
general population

Every prison has SHU housing but certain prisons are for Long term SHU. Great Meadow isn't one of them because hubby is there now and he was sent there AFTER he got out of long term SHU at Upstate Correctional facility. The 2 prisons I know for sure that are long term is Southport and Upstate.
