Just wanted to send a quick goodbye to all of you that responded to my many questions during this "new" and "exciting" chapter of my life. I self surrender on 1/9/06 in two short days, but I wanted to send a huge hug to everyone that help aleviate all of my fears. Before you, all I knew about prison was what I had seen on TV and the movies... not a comforting thought.

I am going into the camp at Carswell at least feeling that this won't be nearly as scary as I orginally thought. I think I have everything taken care of before I go, and things should run as smoothly as possible for my family.

Remember what I said about staying busy...make sure you use this time for you....you cannot live in prison and at home, too, and right now, you are in prison....take care of you, no one else....listen, listen, listen-that way you aren't talking!...there are lots worse places you could be....don't be afraid to make friends, just be careful....this will be over before you know it but just do one day at a time. Please post or PM your info so we can write. I am here to tell you had it not been for the letters/cards I got from PTO-like at my FIRST mail call- it would have been a very depressing first week in. Take really good care of YOU-everything else will fall into place. Good luck, kiddo.:thumbsup:

I was fortunate enough to get a split sentence, so I will only be there for five months before spending some time on home confinement. I really believe my attorney helped me get a light sentence. In addition, my family stood by me through this which I know helped sway the judge in my favor. After seeing the other posts out there, I know I was very lucky...

It will be over before you know it. Good luck and remember we are here for you.

Keep your chin up, you will be fine, mostly its just fear of the unknown when your going in. You will relax after you get there.
