I was looking for the san quentin address to mail a friend a birthday card (birthday is Feb 02.. ) then I saw a link that said death row deaths or executions since 1978 and I got curious to see if they had already added tookie.. well I found tooks name at the bottom of the list but I also found my friends name there.. :( :( All this time I've been sending him little where are you cards, and why havent I heard from you.. hes been gone since July 05:( :(

im sorry for your loss. that a real messed up way to find out that hes gone. what have they done with your cards??? they couldve least sent them back with a note. im sorry again

JLuvsMe.....I am sorry to hear of the loss of your friend. That would explain why you hadn't heard from him. :( I would almost think that CDOC would have sent back some sort of notification to you. That is so wrong to let you think that he just isn't writing for some other reason. I was checking the site to see if your friend was someone that I had read anything about since I have recently done a paper for class on death row/executions. I am not sure if I had the correct site, but I found just 2 were executed in 2005 and neither one was in July. :( So I don't know if I did read about him or not. Truly I am sorry.

Im so sorry 4 your loss... wasnt there anyone who could call you? The prison didnt have enough respect to let you know after his mail came threw?>? Unreal...Im so very sorry..I guess once their gone, they dont give a crap!

Its unbelievable!! That they didn't even bother to give you short notice to inform you is beyond cruel and cynical. You should write the prison and ask if this is their policy. If so - perhaps discuss the matter with some activists around that area.

I'm so incredibly sorry this happened. Can't say it suprises me much, but it sure is shockingly cynical.

i am sorry for your loss i sent a letter to a member of texas d/r only to find out he had been paroled. but at least they let me know
