misssusiequsie 01-04-2006, 04:04 PM Okay ladies I saw the cover of People magazine this week and it has really sparked something in my brain and I am on a mission to lose weight. Would anyone else like to join in?? I need to lose about 75 lbs. and I will take all of the support I can get.:thumbsup: :D

So good luck to you! It can be done remember the article were one woman lost 165 in nine months we can do it if she can.

Shoot I am going to Miami in 5 Months and I have a wedding I am in, in June....I wanna lose 50-60 lbs....we can do it girls! I have started by cutting my Carbs...what else are you ladies doing?
CG119 01-07-2006, 12:00 AM Girl you can do it...I started a few weeks ago and already lost a few pounds...All I did so far is cut out most junk/fast food and am using baby carrots and broccoli as an am and pm snack...tons of water and it has already made a difference...I don't know what mag you were looking at but I'd like to join you guys...My goal is 25-30lbs by October...

Plenty of water, limited sodas, iced tea along with walking, walking and more walking, cutting out the fat!!!! I've done it before and know I can again, I'm getting close on time so I want mine well on it's way by February when I go see my honey again ...ok ladies this is our goal .... goodluck to each of us,
Should we check in say every Sat/Sun to see how we are doing? Perhaps report the loss on here in pounds???
I'm game if you guys are. I' know I'm coming into this late so my post for how much weight will be next week on either Sat/Sun ....

silverleaves786 01-07-2006, 11:22 PM count me in.. i am going to try to eat 3 meals a day. Sounds easy but never is. No more sugar in my coffee either. I bought an exercise bike 2 weeks ago and at first could only do 20 mins but now am up to 30 mins in one go. Oh and I have to loose weight, I feel so stiff and heavy.. I have 105 lbs to loose. Most of which I have gained in the last 6 months going through a messy divorce. I will check in on the weekends also.
AngelLove143 01-08-2006, 02:24 AM I would LOVE to join you all, I have like 100 I want to loose, I gained alot from a car accident I was in, but I cant handle it anymore my back constantly aches. I have decided that i want to do this natural, originally I wanted to get gastric bypass but I dont want my skin to sag. So I want to do this but needs lots of support, grrrrrrr.

Anyhow I'm down with reporting our weight loss on here. Let's all do a weigh in and report it here on Monday, January 16th. We can support each other! I need to lose between 70 & 80 lbs. I'm starting to have back problems and its not fun. I'm starting today. I'm going to eat healthier and work out on the eliptical machine here at work for an hour 5 days a week. Good luck to everyone!

Crstnamre 01-09-2006, 04:30 PM I am in. I started about 3 months ago and have lost 30lbs so far. I just cut my calories to between 1200 and 1500 a day. It seems to be working, I tried on a pair of pants I have'nt worn in months and to my surprise they were too big! I have allowed myself to have "special treats", like I had Carl's Jr for Christmas, lol. And if I slip up I do not beat myself up...I just continue on my diet. The Lean Cuisine dinners have been a huge help. Also the South Beach meals, dinners and lunches are really good.
AngelLove143 01-09-2006, 05:03 PM I was doing the south beach diet as well as taking trim spa and it really helped, but then I went through a really depressing time, not hearing from Travis, So now I am more determined than ever to try to do this a natural way. I dont want to do gastric bypass and have skin hanging due to excessive weight loss over a short period of time.

poppy's 01-10-2006, 11:27 AM Well girls I hit the gym last night really hard and its been 7 days since I started my diet Saturday is my day to weigh in so far so good. I also just learned that another friend of mine is getting married on July 8th so now I have two weddings I am in the other is August 12th so I have to lose weight. I have been very sick lately dont have a voice in fact, going to the Dr tomorrow, so havent really been eating, what a great start to a diet LOL

turtles29 01-11-2006, 12:39 AM If everyone puts their mind to it, everyone will succeed. I use to drink 2 to 3 sodas daily and now I havent drank one in a month. Its hard but then I just picture all the sexy lingerie I want to wear when my man comes home. I have gained a good 40 pounds and and its very depressing when I go to the store and have to get a bigger dress size. I started to see what I ate, and nothing past 6 p.m. and I started going to the park to walk; at least 1 hour. WE can do it!!!!!!!!!!

Im in on this one for sure. :thumbsup: I want to look good for my baby :love: when he comes home to me.:p When i was losing weight all i did was; no sodas at all, water and gatorade, no juck food, smaller portions in my meals, and eatting healthy snacks.
It worked for me when i was losing weight. I just havent been motivated enought i guess to start it up agian. But if i start with everyone else im sure ill do it. :D
misssusiequsie 01-11-2006, 03:01 PM So far I have been doing pretty good. I only drink water or a small glass of 100% juice and have been eating lot of fruits and veggies. It feels great to exercise. Don't forget about weighing in and posting it on Monday ladies! Whoever wants to that is.

I am down for the challenge. I am looking to lose 40 lbs by the time for my trip to Myrtle Beach Memorial Day weekend....and 30 lbs after that for a total of 70 lbs by the end of the year (new years resolution)

It's a liquid based diet, you have 5 of their 'meals' a day, 2 - 3 hours apart, and then for dinner you eat 5 ounces of beef or pork, or 7 ounces of chicken or turkey along with 1 1/2 cups of the approved vegtables. It's basically a severe calorie cut, and since the gross food that they send you the mixtures to are toxic, I drink the shakes, which aren't that bad. -- and there are options for vegetarians, if your not a meat eater.
You can lose 20lbs A MONTH. I excerise daily too, mon - friday, for an hour. I'm determined to lose enough weight so I feel good about myself. the diet is featured in the People magazine of the people who lost half their body weight. Feel free to PM me with questions, I've been on the diet since Saturday and I'm weighing myself tomorrow so we'll see how I've done!
aajenkins086 01-11-2006, 04:12 PM ok ladies I have to participate this sounds fabulous! So I started changing my eating habits about a few months ago. this is what I have dont to drop from an 18 to a 12 (non-stretch). I am broke as a joke cant take diet pills (will show up on the federal ION scan at visiting day) so this is my poor girls way to a healthier life!
1. I set a realistic goal 20 lbs in 6 weeks. I have gone in 6 week intervals
2. in the morning I eat breakfast ( I get to work at 7 so I have a yogart and an egg and sausage or bacon)
3. I eat snacks I eat alot of veggies ( to much fruit will turn to sugar) meat and cheeses,
4. lunch is always a salad for me. I have got great salad recepies and dressing! but there are plenty of low cal soups and wraps left overs from the night before??
SUPER IMPORTANT NO PROCESSED FOODS AT ALLLL!
5. I dont eat boxed rice, or boxed noodles, boxed mash potatoes. instead I use brown rice if I have to eat rice at all, and I use spinish noodles for pasta. just remember the easier it is to cook the worse it is for you! try to make things from scratch with real veggies and real herbs.
6. I DO NOT USE SALT AT ALLLLLLLL.( garlic salt, season salt) herbs can be expesive but I found if you have a swap meet in you area or a $1 store they will have them cheap.
7. Pick one day out of the week or month to act a foool! fried chicken, hot fudge sunday, extra whip cream on you mocha!
which brings me to
8. I drink 10 glasses of water a day. you can break that up into , decaf tea, crystal light ( I personally hate the stuff) I dont drink juices, never have drank soda.
EXERCISE
1. I found in walmart an old tybo tape ($5.00)
2. I wrapped a black hefty bag around my waist every time I execise.
( to help with the mid section)
3. I only tybo 3 days a week for 20 minutes ( I need to step my game up now)
4. I power walk the other 2 days.
I need some support when I get lazy and just wanna run to Mc Donalds (accross the street from my work) and get a burger, hot fudge sunday, apple pie. maybe I can workout extra hard tomorrow but to morrow never comes!

I have an excercise bike that I have to knock the dust off of.
I also plan to purchase a juicer so that I can make fresh carrot and apple juice.
I just have one problem though, I HATE WATER!!!
I hate the taste of water.
Any suggestions?

AngelLove143 01-16-2006, 10:48 PM I havent gotten motivated yet, I really need to I dont want to do Gastric bypass and deal with the flab but Im thinking that is what I am going to have to do, I cant take the pain in my back anymore, It all started from a car accident in dec 2003 the weight came on and now my back and legs are in constant pain, If I could only lose 30 lbs then I know it would be easier GRRRRR
michellelynnwil 01-16-2006, 10:54 PM I am working now with a dietician and in june I will be getting the gastric bypass due to having hep c I cant seem to lose the weight even with the diet and exercise but in two weeks I went from 300 to 285 so far so good good luck to all.

Now my youngest child is 1 years old and I am still carrying all of the extra wieght around. Now I am getting married on February 13th, which is exactly 26 days from now:eek: . I am freaking, cause I wanted to loose at least 20 lbs which now might not be a realistic goal in such a short period of time. But I am going to try my hardest and sinced I missed yesterdays weigh in, here's mine:
Today I weigh: 198 lbs
Goal by Feb. 13th: 180

First of all
No Sodas
No Potatoe chips
No candy (chocolate)
In the morning I will have 8oz of hot water with lemon juice
Try to drink as much water as possible thru the day
Try not to eat after 6pm
If you need to snack thru the day eat veggies
Let me know if this works I will do the same

After I had my daughter I was severely over-weight, I still am actually, but since I can't brag about having lots of will power, I got a lap-band surgery. It's like the gastric bypass but it's less drastic because they don't cut any part of your internal organs. I've lost about 60 pounds already and I'm still loosing, so count me in to the weight loss team!

I told my man that I wasn't going to see him for a month, with hopes of losing weight and that when he saw me, I would be a little bit skinnier. To the looks of it, I see myself bigger. Has anyone tried the "6 Week Body Makeover"? An old friend told me a long time ago this was how she lost a lot weight. First, I would want to get more feedback before spending $120.. I went to a homeopathic and I have stopped drinking sodas for over a month and I havent seen the results that I was expecting. Right now I am weighing 180 pounds and I at least want to weigh 150. So count me in!!!!!!

momuvjosh 02-07-2006, 09:23 AM Has anyone heard of fastin? The generic is phentermine. I work in a Dr. office and they prescribe that sometimes. I decided to try it. It is an appetite suppressant. I still get hungry but I fill up fast. I have been on it for 6 days and have lost 5 lbs. I have not started excersising yet so hopefully when I do the weight will come off faster. I want to lose 35 lbs. Good Luck to All and starting this was a wonderful support idea.

Homiegirl 02-07-2006, 10:42 AM Yes, I have friends who have taken it and it supposidly works very well. I have to go through an ion scanner when I visit my baby and I wont take ANYTHING to jeapordize that thing going off. So for now it is eating healthy and exercising my butt off!!!

A new 24 hour fitness is opening up by my house in mid-March, but I had my membership frozen until then so I don't have to pay the monthly fees:D But in the meantime, last Thursday, I got my big butt up and started walking the block with my mom. I actually jog 1/2 of each street and walk the rest. I already feel the difference. I'm not as tired.
I tried that Phentramine about six months after my daughter was born and I lost like ten pounds in two weeks, but I didn't exercise and couldn't make it back to the doctor on a regular basis. Does anyone know if we can purchase the product over-the-counter???

count me in I need to lose at least 80 pounds and that's just to not be in constant pain (knees & ankles). Eating is my problem though i love healthy food. I guess i really just need to get motivated. I already work out 5 times a week but I probably need to move up from 30 mins to 60 maybe that will work...well I'll check back in later.
MrsForeverMine 03-27-2006, 08:29 PM Phentramine really makes you lose fast but the problem is shortly after you stop taking it you gain it back faster than you took it off. I have a few friends and my self that used it and doubled the weight gain. Maybe it was just us but I have heard others say the same. To me the only way is the old fashion way with healthy eating portion controle and plenty of walking or your work out of choice. It may not come off as fast but it is more likely to stay off when you're at your goal weight.
Homiegirl 03-28-2006, 02:40 AM I started Jenny Craig 3 weeks ago and have lost 11.6 pounds as of last Tuesday but I get weighed in tomorrow!!! Exciting!!! I will report after, all of my girlfriends are dieting also and one is doing phentramine. I refuse to take any supplements because I have to go through the ION scanner where my love is at and I would die if I got denied!!! So I am just changing my eating habits and working out!!!
