My girl Michelle writes me and says that they are going to allow them to have iPods. She said that they can be sent in from any mail order or on-line store. Before I drop the cash, does anybody know if this is really true?

they tend to do things for perrryville they dont do for other units so who knows but I would just call the prison to ask or email them if you are farther away as they will know ..

I was wondering how they would stop the inmates from sharing music with each other, as opposed to buying the music. I wrote back to her with more specific questions, but she hasn't had enough time to respond yet. Have you ever heard of any inmate anywhere being allowed to have an iPod?

No and it seems a little crazy. Just call the prison and ask them if this is something that they could possibly be allowed. At most prisons they don't even have access to a computer.

the mens prisons are still on cassette players so I have my doubts about ipods but hey perryville has a different set of rules then the rest it seems

This is not realistic. My daughter and I have Ipods and it's not that simple as downloading MP3s. They would not be able to maintain seperate Itunes for each user, and there is a maintenance feature with them.

I am not from your state but I would say to call the prison and ask. How would they get the songs uploaded onto their iPOD's? I cant see a prison/prison personnel taking all that time to download the songs and then uploading them onto the iPOD's.
