I am looking for info on how he can continue his education while he is in a Ga prison. I followed some of the links and I can't find anything for Georgia.
Anyone dealt with this?
Thanks,
DCJ

For correspondence courses, as from Indiana University or Ohio University, you can be located anywhere, provided the authorities will let the mail through and supervise the exams.

I don't know about the correspondence courses but my dad (he's a CO) said that GA cut the programs for outsiders to come in to the prisons to teach the inmates...
I don't know if that's true but that's what he said...

I am sure that is why I cannot find anything for Georgia. It is a shame they are destine to fail before they even get started. I will continue my search on courses he can take that he can apply once he is released. So much idle time on his hands is not good for the body or the soul. Georgia needs a wake up call.

I know...I'm trying to find courses my fiance can take too...GA's prison system isn't really about rehabilitation if they won't even allow them the chance to better themselves while they're in...hopefully I can find a correspondence course for him.

I do hate the Georgia prison system. They do not want to give inmates a chance at a better life:mad:

I have to agree. The only thing that Georgia has to offer is the Victim's Impact, and the Motivation for Change. My son is just now getting his GED. He has been in for 4 years, but the place he is at now, the GED person quit and it took them over 7 months to get another one. If anyone finds anything for our inmates to further their education, please let me know. Education is the key to success!
