Back in 1999 my girl friend was in the process of divorce from a brutal husband who beat her and verbally abused her. She burned a small corner of her own mattress and he had her arrested on an arson charge. the burn was so small that the smoke detectors didn't even go off. she was convicted and sentenced to 10 years. she has been in for 3 years so far lost the appeals and doesn't expect to be released for another 5 and a half years. I am waiting for her as i love this woman with all my heart. it is so hard to be without her. i feel so helpless. i go up to visit her every two weeks as it is a far drive to where she is beeing held. she worries that if she has to be there for that length of time i will forget her . i don't know if i'm crazy but i'm going to wait for her must be love

The stress of iving with abuse can drive a person to do all kinds of nutty things; I'm sorry your loved one couldn't find her way out of it before it went to such lengths. Doesn't seem to me like the punishement fits the crime, though.
I'm glad you've joined PTO because since you're going to wait for her it will make the time easier to have folks to talk to & give you support. And since you're the kind of person you are, no doubt you'll have plenty of support to offer others as well.

welcome, jodon. i agree with flower, your girlfriends punishments sounds a bit extreme. and with tinkerbell, in that she is lucky to have such a loving person to support her in this. remember, you need love and support, too...and coming to pto was a great first step! welcome! ac

thanks to every one ! its hard to find anyone who seems interested at all about a loved one that has been taken away. i never thought it would happen tp me but here i am! i've been so lost without her and now we find out its going to be 5 + years
