I got word this morning that Ronnie was put in "lock up" last night. Can anyone tell me what that consists of? What priviledges will he lose and how long before I may know? I have a plane ticket to fly down and see him for the weekend, supposed to leave in 14 days:angry:

I would have to say that it really depends... "lock up" means disciplinary segregation (which in most cases means no visits). From the looks of what you're saying he might not be on "lock up"yet... Here when they come and get you they he will still have to go before a board to review the "ticket" (what they are charged with) and issued the penalty (they're supposed to go before the board review normally within a week where they will let them know the punishment and for how long). There is a such thing as "admin" where they can still receive visits. The only way to know is for him to tell you. Normally when they are put on "lock up" everything is taken and they are moved to a cell by themselves where they only have cosmetics... they can come out once a day for showers and I think they might still get a rec time (out of the cell). In any event, if you want to get answers I would suggest you call maybe the counselor and say that you're concerned and have not heard from him and are supposed to be travelling there from out of town and they should be able to tell you what type of segregation he is on and how long and if the visits have been suspended...

I am sorry I haven't given you defined answers... I hope this helps! :)

Thanks Angel! I don't know if the counselor would talk to me since I am not on his list yet. But it is certainly worth a try. He would be in disciplinary seg (I believe). He got caught using a cell phone. Thanks again, and have a Happy New Year!

Aw man sorry to hear that... Cell phone charges seem to differ on how strong they will make the punishment (they also look at past offenses). Here in MD they have tried to crack down on cell phone use because of all of the contraband that has been getting in. As far as the counselor, I call and talk to my fiance's case managers and I am not directly family (yet) ... and they will still talk to me, I always treat them with respect and they know that I am just concerned about him ... I guess it depends on the counselor. I know it's always good for them to know that there is someone on the outside who really cares (not to be a nuisance) but to just check on them.

I hope they don't give him a lot of time and that you will get to come see him soon. Happy New Year to you too!!!! :)

Well ladies, my plane leaves tomorrow morning. By 4:00 p.m. I plan on being at MHC hoping for some sort of visit. He still hasn't been charged with his ticket. So I have no idea whether we'll have 3 visits as originally planned or 1 (or none):(. Keeping my fingers crossed;).

:) Well everyone I made my visit. He had to be in the box behind the glass, but one co was kind enough to let me sneak one brief (and I emphasize BRIEF) kiss. They allowed me to visit all 3 days and the first day they actually left us to visit for 3 hours:p . He hasnt gone up for his ticket still.

:oWell, Ronnie went up for his ticket today. Received 110 days in lock-up and lost his visits for 6 months. I praise GOD they didn't get to him till today. So thankful for the visit we had this weekend even though it was so hard to walk out of that room come Sunday, both of us knowing it would probably be his last visit for awile. Also being my first visit, it was a real eye opener. Those of you folks that have been having to deal with this system and supporting loved ones in it are incredible. This is even harder than I imagined. But I refuse to give up on him.

So glad you were able to visit. I know how hard it is leaving, especially having to leave and go so far away...Hopefully you will feel the 6 months pass by quickly. Keep your chin up and thank God for the US Mail! And thank God for PTO..what a support system this site are for all of us!

I'm in Texas and my guy is in Jessup. I have no idea when I'll get back to MD, but hopefully his visits will be reinstated the next time I go so I'll get to visit all 5 days! After waiting 26 years to see him again, every minute in the visiting room is cherished!

God bless you.
