Morning Everyone,

I need yall's help understanding Allie's Serve-All. I found this info on TDCJ wedsite...

A Serve-All vote means that the offender is not considered ready for parole and that no future parole reviews will be scheduled. A Serve-All may only be given to offenders who have less than three years until their discharge or scheduled release to mandatory supervision.

DMS Deny Mandatory Supervision. Applicable to HB 1433 cases, i.e., offenders for whom mandatory supervision is "discretionary" because their mandatory release eligible offense was committed on or after September 1, 1996.

Mandatory Supervision is the automatic release from prison to supervision provided by law for restricted categories of offenders. Eligible offenders are released onto mandatory supervision when their calendar time served added to their good time credit equals the length of their prison sentence. The release to mandatory supervision does not require the approval of the Board of Pardons and Paroles. The Board does set the mandatory conditions of release.Mandatory Supervision

Does this mean Allie has a Mandatory Release? If not how would I find out?

Thanks

Hi I was in on a two years sentence and I recieved my first answer from parole it was a serve all and in two weeks my serve all was dropped and I was to be released on my mandantory date. I knew alot that were given that answer on their first answer and I think it was a scare tactic to see how you would react. If she has a mandantory release date tell her to hang on that she will more than likely be released on it. Especially if she has less than a 3 years sentence. They like to make you do most of your time on up to a 3 but less for over 3 don't know why just works out that way. hope I helped you roberta

UNLESSSSSSS....you are DWI....Janice, in the past, as you know, they were hanging on to the DWI's...I'm not sure this is still the case....(with the crowding and budget).....the facility Skip is in....ALMOST ALL DWI offenders...and he is seeing DMS (DENY) and RMS (APPROVAL) every day....

PM me if you can with additional info on Allie, and we may be able to figure it out (or I can suggest people for you to call....i gots some connections girl!!)

Let me know,
kath

now the parole board votes on it, if you were sentenced after 1996. That date can change now.

such as kenneth, he was sentnece before 1996 so there fore he was under the old law, meaning that they had to let him out on the projected release date, now it can change if he was sentneced after 1996

Hi Yall,
I have been moving so I have not been on in a while, I do have more questions but I am still moving so who knows when I will be done, I have so much junk. Thanks for the info, I am still confussed . I don't understand why they gace him a set-off the first time and a serve-all the 2nd go around.
Any idea's? He is still in a Trustee Camp and still no case against him other than DWI, God I hate those 3 letters.
Thanks Again
Janice

Set offs are very common on Round 1....and serve-alls are all different....did they give him a serve-all to his MAX out? Or was the serve-all given for a specific date EARLIER than his max out?

The VERY problem with TDCJ and DWI (those 3 and ULTRA DIRTY 4 letter words), is that historically, TDCJ liked to hang on to DWI offenders and make them serve practically, if not all, of their sentence. They make it MUCH harder for DWI offenders to parole out over other offenses. I don't know why, and I don't know why it's allowed to go on. It's common knowledge, yet the Board is unpoliced in its bias toward DWI offenders. They want to warehouse them versus rahabilitate them, and the most ironic thing is.....MOST OF SOCIETY IS GUILTY OF DWI....what are they gonna do...LOCK US ALL UP???

Janice, I would suggest either the OMBUDSMAN office or REVIEW/RELEASE for some answers....they will be able to tell you more about where his file stands...

OMBUDSMAN 512-406-5401
REVIEW/RELEASE 512-406-5812

Also, if you can make it, Nancy Hees of the OMBUDSMAN office will be in Plano Monday, June 30th, at Prestonwood Baptist Church, for a parole workshop. She is AWESOME, and I highly recommend anyone who can attend, to do so....

Let me know if you need any other info...I will help in any way I can!

Who is that and what is that OMBUDSMAN? Do they ever come to South Texas?

TDCJ has a regular OMBUDSMAN and a parole OMBUDSMAN....these guys act as liasons between the public and different sectors within TDCJ. They can answer all kinds of questions & they have access to the TDCJ computer system and can check offender status. They are BASICALLY there for you!

I don't really understand what a set off is. I emailed TDCJ and they said my son is already eligible for parole ( I guess because of so much time in county) but that he is under review. This is his first prison incarceration but he has a long list of offenses (DWI, DUI, poss of marijuana, poss of a firearm uner the influence, etc. etc.) I think that will really hurt his parole, do you? They said the parole rate in Texas is 28%. (One in three??)

No, that's more like one in four, right?
