well i'm happy to say that i went to visit my hubby...and WOW...NO one cared that i was black and he was not! and if they did, they did a GREAT job of hiding it. as a matter of fact...I was pleasantly surprised by how many black/white, hispanic/white, hispanic/black couples i saw there. i was too busy showing my hubby love to really pay attention, but i even saw some people there of different races, i saw an asian woman there, but i'm not sure who she was there to see. i met this one lady that had this adorable little brownskinned girl that looked JUST like her...and she was caucasian. we stuck together the ENTIRE visit as she was trying to help me learn the ropes haha. then i saw her hug the little girls father. he was as black as a berry lol. even the COs did nothing but SMILE our way! WOW....i guess there goes the neighborhood when the COs don't kick you out of visiting and actually SMILE at you!!! by the way...they were very helpful and even showed me where my hubby was waiting for me at!
so no exciting interracial relationships and the prison system drama to report here haha.  ;)

Yep, no drama here. The CO's are all really cool. I usually even get extra time with my sweetie, so no complaints here.

ya'll don't know i was so happy too! even at the end of the visit there were a few people who said hello considering they never saw me before. one lady even told me an easier way to do things when i came in next time. i was just almost awed by the courtesy and the professionalism of the entire staff. some guests were loud (to be expected) but i just kept my distance from them. everyone i asked a question to helped me without ANY problem...there was even an inmate there who tried to get me free candy bars from a machine that was broken *he said...lemme show you a trick!!!* all you had to do was push the vending number and bamo out fell the candy. i didn't take any (too afraid of who was watching LMAO) but he stuffed a few in his pocket LMAO! actually...there were quite a few interracial couples roaming around...i saw easily more than 10 without paying too much attention (including the lady who stuck by my side with her daughter :D). and wow...i really was excited about how many inmates have people that really love them there. there were people hugging and crying (i guess alot of first timers like me) and not one single officer made things unneccessarily hard for ANYONE. they even let us get all mushy mushy. there was one male officer who told us to move it when we were hugging...but we were already going (i guess he wanted to be cocky)...but he was one out of at least 20 officers that were nothing but great. even the female officers were nothing but sweet. honestly...we saw more issues with the male officers than the female officers. there was one guy CO that was just in EVERYONE's conversations, but we were perfectly within the rules concerning our talk, so we didn't pay him any mind. then there was just the other CO who rushed us to end our kiss (we were watching anyway cuz there were Kids running around EVERYWHERE!) i guess i'm kinda going from one topic to another, but my visit was amazing to say the least...and well i'm happy to say that yes, inmates and COs alike are still human and yes...they DO smile!
and one other thing i have to mention: i was pleasantly surprised too at how many races were there FOR inmates. i saw white, black, hispanic, an indian lady wearing the full body dress they wear with the headwrap and just her eyes showing...and the asian lady. it felt like a big old rainbow. and everyone was there for the SAME thing...to see their inmate(s)!!! :D!!
